• Who the hell is Fury gonna fight - how long can he guard the belt and refuse to fight, can he really wait for December? What if december doesnt happen - will WBC strip that coward?
• Usyk gonna fight Dubois or Wilder, but I doubt it will be summer
• There is still option of Whyte-AJ this summer
• Zhang-Joyce will happen
• Hrgovic still no opponent, said something about potential interim IBF belt against McKean - I would love to see him paired against undefeated Kabayel (or Sanchez)
• Anderson-Zhan - great fight, gonna test this kid, if he beats Zhan he can attack real Gs
• Ruiz arrested, Ortiz in retirement,
• What the hell is going on with Sanchez - is he dead or retired?

Sanchez beat Daniel The Mountain Martz in what can only be described as a stay busy fight. Worth noting that his last two opponents were clearly picked for their height, if not skill (201cm and 198cm respectively) as Sanchez seems to be working on his front-foot game, with shades of Canelo in his style.

Now he is back with Eddie Reynoso, waiting for Chris Arreola's team to agree on the date of the fight. We might see the bout in summer, or early fall.

The top HWs will spend the summer having bbqs and paddle boarding.

They dont seem particularly interested in fighting these days.

Yes but not between any of the top 5 that's for sure other than maybe the Joyce Zhang rematch.

Can see Whyte fighting and can see Chisora fighting (when doesn't he) other than that, forget it.

Well, Tyson Fury is out.

This content is protected

Zhang-Joyce II seems to be good to go this summer, at some point. (Gotta love Zhang).

Jared Anderson is fighting Zhan Kossobutskiy in July. That win should put Jared near the top five. (Gotta love Jared).

Lenier Pero broke a bunch of Vykhryst's ribs last time out. Pero is in the gym training. Hopefully, his next fight will be announced soon. (Gotta love the bodysnatcher Pero.)

Usyk has to fight someone, be it Dubois or Wilder. If Usyk doesn't fight, he'll be stripped. There hasn't been a WBA mandatory in five years (since Joshua-Povetkin). So the WBA is done waiting.

Joshua fought once against Franklin and with the Saudi deal floating around, he's done for the summer. Any talk of a Whyte fight has gone silent.

So Whyte has nothing going on.

That leaves Fat Andy without a playdate. He's the #1 WBO contender. Hrgovic is the #1 IBF contender. Hrgovic and Fat Andy should fight. But I don't know how keen Hrgovic is to risk his position.

Neither of those guys (Hrgovic and Ruiz) has exactly been "busy" and they don't have belts holding them back from fighting anyone.

There's a log jam at the top because of this "Saudi deal" hanging out there. When the top fighters are in a holding pattern, that has a "trickle down" effect on the rest of the top 10. They're all stuck.

They need Deontay to knock off Usyk and get everyone fighting again.

If Wilder stops Usyk, Wilder and Joshua is all but inked. The IBF will order him to fight Hrgovic, Wilder will ignore it and face Joshua. The IBF will strip Wilder (or he'll vacate).

Hrgovic can fight someone (Ruiz) for the title. Meanwhile, Fury can fight the winner of Zhang-Joyce II (he seems to really want to fight Joyce). That will open the gates.

Wilder and Joshua weren't perfect. But Wilder defended the WBC belt 11 times in five years (and he had multiple surgeries which delayed fights in the midst of that). And Joshua defended his belts seven times in three years during his first reign.

I think we, as fans, would kill for that kind of activity at this point from Fury and Usyk.

But with Fury and Usyk at the top, two guys who you almost need a court order to get in the ring with, the division is stuck.

SOMEBODY fight SOMEBODY. I hope the WBA makes Usyk-Wilder. That would get the ball rolling.

If not, well, the board will be next to dead until December. Everyone enjoy their summer (and fall). :)

The interview is a bit different - Arum doesn't know what Fury will decide, or at least he says so. Of course, it's quite possible that Fury isn't fighting until December, which would be crap, but let's see... The good news is that Fury has some chance to be allowed to go back in the USA.

The bigger question is will there be a quality heavyweight fight this summer and how many will there be for 2023?

No

When the Saudi's are offering you $1billion in december why would you risk fighting anyone....

6 months patience.
