Obviously his fight against Pacquiao, with all its financial success, is also bringing some serious hate and loss of respect. Some of his last hard fans didn't have his back in support and furthered the hatred of Mexican boxing fans. But i'm wondering, would you say Oscar would get some respect back if he fights either Margo or Cotto after Manny? Lets say he fights Antonio and loses, but gives a hard fought decision. :blood Or is this sin he's about to commit with Manny beyond pardon? I would make it that if, DLH is to have another fight. It would have to be against Margo. Margo will have to win his next fight. Not sure if I'll Pardon him though, thats taking it to far. I will give him credit if he gives Margo a better fight than Cotto did. But I seriously doubt that would go down like that.
If he fought and beat Margo then I'd imagine he'd gain a lot of respect. But at this point, he can't beat Margo... so probably not.
if he fought margo it would definitely win my respect as a fan again. i would attribute his fight with manny as a great business move. a record payday with little risk before fighting a defining fight with margo is pure genius.
You said it man but I dont think the fight will be a record payday. My wife works at a Mexican radio station here in San Jose, CA and they just had a segment on this.Man I tell you its funny how Oscar doesnt want to **** off his people but by the sound of all the callers who were listening man were they ticked off. Oscars stock has fallen and to top it off this fight is not on any Mex holiday. This fight will not do anything close to the Mayweather fight I guarantee it.
Win, lose, whatever- if he fought Cotto or Margarito, you'd have to give him his due respect. I'd rather see Oscar not answer the bell on his stool against Margarito than pummel Manny for 10 rounds. Sometimes there is far more dignity in defeat.

This is a very interesting question. I for one, dont see much wrong with the match up, as long as he makes 147. It was Manny's perogative to just say no, but the $$$ (Up to 25 Million) was too awesome to turn down. This is pure Barnum and Bailey. There is a decent chance that yours truly, if I can get a decent price on a flight, via Bill Shatner, is gonna be there, just to kind of observe the whole Freak Show aspect of it. But I have a horrible feeling that the Panties could win, and it would be the first time in History that I was in Vegas on a night the Golden Fishnets actually won. i think DLH should eventually fight margo but its a double edges sword he will lose alot of respect with the mexican fans if he beats him... but if he loses everyone will just say the same bull**** that he isnt that great an losses all his big fights... i think fighting pac man is a good idea i think hes doind it cause pac an freddy have been coaxing him into a fight an sayin pac will knock him out... plus when he kos manny he will gain respect from the mexicans since pac has been beating all the good mex fihgters... i know it pisses me off... althought i thing JMM beat him both times
The only way Osacr would gain regain all the respect he has lost would be to fight Marga, pure and simple. Nobody else he fights would bring that respect back.
