Is there some pro-Ortiz hysteria going on..

    It is interesting to me how both in the boxing media and this very forum there has been an increasing amount of hype being applied to Ortiz. Why are people saying this now? A month or so ago there was a clear winner of this fight, Wilder.. now .. it's a 50-50 fight in many eyes.

    I can't help but think there is either some wishful thinking going on from the anti-wilder crowd or some nervousness from the Wilder fanbase.

    The way I see it, this fight is Wilder's too lose. He is much more athletic than Ortiz, has both a height and reach advantage and is MUCH younger.

    Ortiz does have some nice southpaw skills and a good pedigree, but he is very hittable and is slow, he is also closer to 50 than 30. I can't see how anyone can pick him over Wilder.

    Wilder I believe is going to box him like he did Stiverne in the first fight. Ortiz is too slow and doesn't have the movement to deal with him, or the reactions to stop explosive punches.

    If there is an upset here I would be surprised.

    Yes, he lied about his age, as in he overstated it. Trust man, I got some inside info. He's pushing 30, not 40, certainly not 60!

    “Donald”?? Not sure who you’re referring to. If it’s who I think I wouldn’t try making this thread into that type of discussion if I were you :)

    And by many I mean like millions. Lol Literally. MANY people think Ortiz is older including professional boxers. ;)
