Because some certain gurus of this great sport do not think so.

Below I have links of some TKOs that I find rather brutal. What do you think?

That Ike Willimas thing is horrific.

Good choices, but could have done with LaMotta-Robinson VI on there, that's maybe the most brutal stoppage in history.

Anyway, TKO's are generally more brutal. It sees a man unable to fall needing to be rescued unless he is killed.

Hell, if fights that go 12 rounds and have no KD's (like Morales-Pacquiao 1 for example) can be brutal, then yes, of course there is such a thing as a "Brutal TKO".
BTW, i think Klitschko-Sanders is a pretty good and brutal example.

Jack - yeah, Williams is actually asking the ref to step in, it's insane.

LaMotta - I think the Bronx bull legendary durability and ability to make a comeback just hypnotised the ref a bit...

I couldnt believe it when Williams was :

    1) allowed to hit him so many times flush without the ref stopping it

2)Like you say, he asked the ref if he was going to do his job and stop the fight, and the ref declined! ****ing abysmal

I remember a RJJ fight where he asked the ref if he had given his opponent enough punishment and the ref seemed to think not!

Anybody ever see Jirov vs Montana. that was about as brutal a TKO as I have ever seen. Only reason it was called TKO and not KO is because the ref didn't want to risk a count as Montana needed immidiate attention.

He could also be talking about Jones-Pazienza. Jones didn't even celebrate after that one, he seemed pissed off that he had had to do that.
