The man is 29 years old, in his natural weight class and 34-1.

The point can be made that Pac fought a past prime ODLH & Hatton. Does anyone believe that this current version of Cotto is not in his prime?

Or is the past 3 fights leaving some doubts for people?

Cotto is prime. Theirs nothing shot about him. He hasn't slowed down. He hasn't faded. His body is probably at it's most strongest right now.

But if Pac wins, we're gonna hear Cotto was done since the Margarito fight.

    :deal

That's what I'm expecting, I'm just wondering what excuses will be trumped out here to discredit this win if Pacquiao pulls it off.

The margarito ghost talk is way over hyped. He destroyed the guy he was supposed to(jennings) and outboxed the guy with a huge cut who no one wanted to fight(clottey)
    The man is serious.

    Hatton was in his prime.
    Cotto is in his prime.
Hatton just couldn't make the step up in competition from world champ to the truly elite.

I think he has slowed down a little bit, his hooks are a little slower than they used to be. I think he is 90% of the best he ever was, the Margo fight did have an effect but it's not as great as people make out, he just needed to come through another tough test and he did that with Clottey and that awful cut.

He is still prime as far as I am concerned.

Not at his prime, but not shot. I think he reached his prime in the Margarito fight

You should blame clottey for not winning a match he should have more than blaming cotto for not losing when he should have. Clottey ****ed that one up, not Cotto. That's why one of them is fighting pacquiao and the other one can't get a fight to save his life.

Depends on whether he loses or not. If he loses to Pac, he's shot and the great Margarito took everything from him and only he Marg, deserves credit. - UliUli.

He had a pretty bad cut fella, that does distract you trust me, not only that, if he got hit in the same place hard enough can you imagine how much bigger the cut could have got?

This is regarding you saying he ran for six rounds.

That too, seems strange Clottey was smiling as punches landed on him but he was not willing to trade late on, he could have won if he had the knackers.

I agree that Cotto was kind of slacking, BUT you're focusing too much on the bad, you're forgetting about how he kept Clottey in that corner for a minute and a half. I think we're focusing too much on this one fight
