Is he nuts or does he just want to cash out on his back one more time?

    - In a recent article by Pat Sheehan for the thesun.co.uk, Ricky "Hitman" Hatton was quoted, revealing that he is willing to take on Oscar De La Hoya. Hatton is ready to face De La Hoya but only as a catchweight contest.

Quoted by the publication in regards to a fight with Boxing's number one draw, De La Hoya, Hatton stated: "I’d fight Oscar but my natural fighting weight is light-welter, so if we did fight it would have to be at a catch-weight, somewhere in between."

Hatton added: "Even so, I’m not sure if that would be suited for me."

In regards to still being motivated after losing his perfect record to Floyd Mayweather Jr. last month, Hatton said: "I still have the motivation. I owe it to my fans and my family."

Hatton added: "I’ve won four world titles and fought the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world."

"I owe it to myself to make sure my last fight is not one where I’ve been beaten and knocked out."

He's had his big pay day, he should stop fooling the public & fight Witter.

In 2 mate, Hatton's Welterweight chin is clearly shaky.

why not cotto-hatton at 47? hatton could give cotto that name recognition he's looking for in the gomez fight. people would also give hatton a pass for not fighting witter if he takes on cotto. hatton says witter can't draw, well cotto can draw interest from boricuas and hispanics.

I know...could you imagine what would happen if Oscar lands that left hook on him....he could ruin the poor guy.

I pray this fight never happens.

Hatton needs to mind buisness at 140 and that includes some tough scraps
I dont think he gets past 1. Witter 2. Juan Diaz 3. Columbian kid at 140
I bet he fights Malianaggi instead easy fight for Hatton.

Oscar would DESTROY Hatton. No contest...

If Ricky is smart, he'll start taking better care of himself and fight Witter or Malignaggi.
