There is only ONE World title per weight class, and Hatton hasn't fought for it. Who gives a **** about these regional titles other then the fighter who then loses part of his purse.
It's people like you who ruin boxing, dickheads who have probably never fought before and then hate on someone for no reason. And by the way, the IBO isnt a world title dickhead
Matthew Hatton is one of the most improved boxers in the game and is still young and getting better. He has defeated two former champs this year (Branco, Nuzhenko) and is European champion. Hatton really beat N'dou though it was called a draw and don't forget his win over Ben Tackie. So how can he be a disgrace? And why shouldn't he call out the big names for the chance of a big payday? And given that the belt holders at 147 include guys like Zaveck, Berto and Senchenko, who is to say Matthew can't get a belt at welterweight?
Nuzhenko is a good solid fighter and and Hatton IMHO won a close decision. Stop the hate man, respect the fighters.

lets be honest, if you was matthew hatton would you turn round and say "no ricky, dont get me a career high payday, let me fight in some small arena for the british title again" or would you thank your brother for the opportunity, then fight your heart out and make sure you bring the belt home.
i hate propledont understand people who share your viewpoint. regional titles mean a lot. every successful boxer from england should take the route of british-commonwealth-european-world. that is ow they build their reputation with decent opponents, that is how they test themselves at every level, that is how they create a fanbase. it pleases me much more to see an english boxer take this route, and build his record, and then goes on to have a succesful title reign, rather than a boxer who stops a bunch of bums, walks into a title shot, and then gets exposed. some boxers can shortcut to a title, like naz. but most of our solid champions go the domestic route, i.e. froch, hatton, witter, lewis, calzaghe. im not saying a regional title makes you the kind of the world, but it is a fundamental tool in the development of any fighter. not only that it gives journeymen motivation to string together some victories. it gives non-world-class boxers a shot at achieving some glory. take jonathan thaxton for instance, he fought a lot of boxers and lost a lot of fights, but he gains domestic respect because he fought the best domestic competition he could find. that might not mean a lot to you, but dont go disrespecting the holders of these belts as something that "no one gives a fuk about"
Wow, good one:dead You'd think you could come up with something smart to say what with all that free-time you have sitting in front of the computer hating someone who actually is brave enough to step in the ring for you to spout **** about:good
NO! There are far, far worst issues of embarrassment in boxing then that rather small hype. My idea of the most disgraceful moments in boxing are; 1) America created a law just to contain one black HW; Jack Johnson. This would be a past event except to date, they still haven't issued a pardon. 2) America allowed Joe Louis to volunteer for the Army where he DONATED all the proceeds from his exhibition matches to the Army fund. When dumb Ole Joe finally ETS'ed the government hit Ole Joe with a back taxes charge which he never was able to pay off and died penniless. 3) America attempted to draft Ali into Vietnam where he would have assuredly received a bullet in his back issued by one of the whites in uniform, friend or foe. This thing about Hatton is rather trivial and petty.
