Is this the boring-est heavyweight period ever?

it is boring because vitali is not from america and from a foreign culture that we don't adopt so he doesn't create a lot of buzz.

 

If Mike Tyson was from Somalia he would have created just as much buzz.

The era of Byrd, Ruiz, Rahman, Brewster was pretty bad imo

 

the klits are from the same era.

 

doubt it. if he was from somalia he wouldn't have had the connection to rappers and brooklyn or whatever. in other words, there wouldn't be that cultural connection to the united states and as a result less buzz.

 

Welcome to boxing, different fighters have different styles and opening up to entertain idiots like you isn't exactly an option they could pick up this late in their careers. Your style is what you're taught when you're introduced in boxing and improvements can only be added and better mastered as time goes. This isn't a circus.

 

Brewster was fun to watch. Not the most talented or skilled guy, but made entertaining fights due to his toughness and lack of defense.

His fight with Liakhovich was great.

he was famous for knocking mother****ers out cold.

 

The Klits ARE boring in most fights but who has come even close to giving them a hard fight in recent years? You can't just blame the Klits, the opposition is poor, what can we do about that?

He was on the cover of Sports Illustrated already at 19 and a mainstream celebrity not too shortly after that.

Klitschkos aside, there hasn't been too many exciting HW fights between the contenders either. The Klitschkos are methodical and dominant and tend not to make the most fan-friendly fans, that's one thing, but I haven't seen too many exciting fights recently from the rest of the division either.

That's probably what I have more of a problem with. When I started out watching boxing, there were usually good entertaining bouts between rising contenders. Holyfield-Dokes, Holyfield-Stewart 1, Ruddock-Smith, Moorer-Cooper, Moorer-Stewart, Bowe-Coetzer, Mercer-Cooper, etc..
