Then is it also the first time Chavez Jr will be facing a southpaw? And facing a real top prospect? If so then Chavez Jr is in big trouble. I said this many times Andy Lee will outbox Chavez Jr to either a tko or a ud (If the judges dont robbed Lee). This situation could be a huge factor. Also Andy Lee ko rate is better then Chavez Jr ko rate. I'm telling ya ppl chavez jr undefeated as a pro will come to an end.

IT should be a good fight regardless, I hope Andy Lee becomes the big favorite... so if he loses and JR applies his pressure size chin and skills and beats this kid, I expect JR to get his credit... but Obiously the haters will always hate so I doubt they give due credit if JR wins.

I like both these guys. Well, that is to say, I think Chavez (even though he's overly protected by TR) is fun to watch and Lee is no slouch himself. I'm finding myself psyched for this fight.

Jr is a inside fighter at heart, and he showed some decent inside fighting/pressure in his last fight, favors him imo

    Question;

Will this bout fall under the 'new' WBC same day weigh-in rule or not? I think it makes a huge difference in this fight. :think

well said. . . this is a legit fight. . i see it as evenly matched: lee's outside boxing vs. chavez inside boxing - whoever can implement their game. i see a 75% decision/25% stoppage from either one cause they both hit about as hard as each other, and Lee could catch Chavez coming in, or Chavez could simply break him down with body shots. . .

If I had to pick, I'd prolly roll with Chavez because he's battle tested over 12 rounds, and he's shown he can somewhat box on the outside, whereas Lee has stamina issues, has never been 12 rounds, and is absolutely useless on the inside. . .

Lee's chin is fine, it's his stamina that worries me, and his vulnerability on the inside - which just happen to be Chavez's two best selling points.

I'm a pretty big fan of both, prolly a bit more Lee, but I'd be happy if they both put on a good showing of themselves, and produce an excellent fight.

Finally, Jr. is NOt a bum. . . For a guy with no ammy experience, and to go undefeated after 40 some odd fights says a lot about him. . Even if he was carefully matched, that's not something that can be easily done. . . I think he has a VERY good chance against Martinez - a VERY good chance.

Certainly not a bum, but the "undefeated after 40 some odd fights" should certainly be looked upon with the right perspective. There have been a couple of controversial decisions in his advantage, and then there was the Roland fight 'situation'. :bart

Boxing is probably the only sport in the world in wich you don't lose if you're caught on banned substances.

I don't think Lee is going to be tough enough to deal with Jr, I see him getting broken down and possibly stopped

I'm just hoping for a lee ko or tko. Don't see him winning this on points anyway..

What happened in the Rowland fight? Ahh, is that where he tested possy for the diuretic furosemide? Not as bad as 'roids, but yeah, definitely fishy especially with the rumors of the commission dropping the ball with post-fight tests in the Rubio fight; I believe both were in Texas as well. . .

I acknowledge he has been matched very carefully in those 40 some fights, but still, to start boxing when you're like 18, or 19, with NO ammy experience? I don't think your average person could do that. . . And even though he prolly deserved to lose both fights against Molina, they were still pretty close, and we all know how good Molina is now (despite being horrible to watch, he's a clever, tricky little devil). . . Then his wins over Zbik, and Rubio are legit wins against very solid boxers (one a boxer, and the other a dangerous puncher). . .

This is probably the fight with the least boxing talent that I have been very exicted about.

I pick Lee to win more rounds on my card but not get the decision. Should be a good scrap.

Its not like Lee is some great fighter, he is still prospect very good one but not proven.
I will give JR credit when he steps in the ring with real champion and thats Martinez, he will lose that fight i can guarantee you that but he will get his respect for finally stepping up!
