Is This The Sort Of Suspect Policy We Can Expect From RING Magazine From Now On?

    Respect to Garcia but how was that fight for the RING Title?

    Garcia gets a SD over Holt and Jose Sillyman gifts a vacant WBC Title shot to two Mexicans and Garcia gets a UD over Morales a UD and he's ranked #2? Khan gets handed back his title after PEDerson tests positive and these two guys are ranked 1 and 2?

    The Hernandez/Cunningham fight being for the RING belt at CW was not as bad but still not a valid decision imo. Ladyboy DLH is ruining the one belt with a shred of integrity left.

    Its fine, he essentially unified against someone who theoretically should have been a unified champ.

    I agree with you on the WBC though, they have become a complete joke these last couple years

    Yeah their new policy is bollocks. Simply filling vacancies and getting more exposure for The Ring has now taken precedence over an honest effort to determine the best fighter in each division. Rosenthal et. al., made these changes because they were annoyed at how many divisions lacked a Ring champion, but that should have been seen as a reflection of how poor the sport is today and how unwilling guys are to fight the best.

    The ring belt can only be won if at least one of their top two and one of their top five fights each other.

    Fine policy in my opinion.

    Who cares what ABC belt Garcia owned? He beat two oldies, beat Morales in better style than Maidana then destroyed Khan. He's a legit champion. As is Yoan Pablo Hernandez.
