NO THERE ARE A LOT OF PROSPECTS ON THERE WAY UP FROM MEXICO WHATS BAD IS THE BOXERS FROM PINAS.THEY QUIT ON THERE KNEES. I GEUSS THERE USED TO THAT POSITION . SHAAAAAAA.:thumbsup two thumbs up to the boys from PINAS........
Yes it is, and I'm Mexican/American.I don't understand why so many Mexican posters are in denial.Let's be honest with ourselves,it seems like a Mexican is getting a beating every week. And not just losing but getting seriously raped! I mean from DLH quitting, to "the next DLH" also quitting and all the beatings in between with others like Margarito,Mijares,Arce,Angulo,Solis,Raul Marquez,Barrera,Julio Diaz,De Leon,Cazarez even that one hard hitting prospect Leonilo Miranda a few months back. It is truly the worst era that I have personally seen. The only ones that are still keeping the Mexican boxing scene alive are Fernando Montiel and J.M.M and even they might be on their way out.All the prospects that you guys have mentioned are unproven. So yes, this is the worst era in Mexican boxing, and if you guys can't see it then you guys are blind.
If you really dont know mexican prospects or mexican boxing in general you really shouldnt making this comment from what i see you just know those guys, i am not gonna be unrespectful or anything but you should go look for a thread started about a month ago about mexican prospects there is a person that posted a list of plenty of prospects, a lot with less than 10 fights but a lot with over 10 fights too, you should look for it and try to find some of their fights, there are plenty of good prospects there and if you want to know about the actual mexican fighters i could tell you there are good ones but yes a lot of them are aging, but there are some other ones, humberto soto, Fernando Montiel(i considered him the best one right now tie with jmm), jmm, rafa just came back of course he fought a bum what did you wanted? he just came back after 3 wars and lots of months inactive did you really believe or want him to go straight to the elite after such a long period? cmon... sosa is another very good figher, etc, so there are still very good mexican fighters and there is a wave of mexican boxers coming you just might not know them but that doesnt mean there are not... I believe the thread i am telling you was called "wave of mexican prospects" or something like that, you should look for it...
5 things to consider 1) JMM will be in the biggest Fight of the year, and is expected to lose, so it's really a win win, no matter what happens 2) Rafa Marquez is back! 3) Sosa is the man in a young and exciting light flyweight division 4) Montiel is second only to Hasegawa at 118lbs 5) Soto is the best at 130
HEY BOOM BOOM IS YOUR AVATAR>A BAKLA WARRIOR. is that scarf he's wearing . is that to hold on to from behind. when they are RIDING HIM. SHAAAAAAAA :thumbsup
I dunno if it's the worst but definitely a time not so good for Mexican (or with Mexican roots) boxers... Consider this, their numero uno boxer currently is JMM... Yeah he's one hell of a technical skilled boxer but he's not really considered a total Mexican warrior in the mold of former Mexico's numero uno like Chavez Sr., Barrera, Morales, etc... I dunno the real reason why since JMM fights with lots of heart and guts... It's maybe because of his mainly counterpunching style which is not inline to Mexican brawling phone booth toe-to-toe style... JMM also not so popular in Mexico... I'm guessing Margacheato, Arce, Chavez Jr. and even the retired Chavez Sr., Barrera and Morales are more popular than him in Mexico... link --> Mexico's Numero Uno Boxer .
I have read that thread and the only other guys mentioned besides for the 3 I mentioned are guys like Antillon, and Chavez. If you knew anything about these fighters at all you would easily know they wont amount to anything great.
They're coming off a period dominated by EM, JMM, MAB, Oscar De La Hoya, Fernando Vargas, Jorge Arce, Izzy Vasquez, Rafa Marquez and Rafael Ruelas to name the first few off the top of my head. Sometimes when you're coming off THAT sort of run you get yourself into a small down period. I'm sure they'll bounce back relatively shortly and this is from a non-Mexican.
The problem with Mexican fighters is that 20% of the population of Mexico now lives in the US. They are addicted to McDonalds, fat, and lazy just like the rest of Americans. Areola is the perfect example. Same deal with American fighters. They have lost their touch. Eastern Europeans are dirt poor and hungry. That is why they are rising to the top.
