I was reading up on stuff online and noticed that whats said on that link is said on alot of websites. Does this mean that i am better off not eating anything at all after a workout and that consuming carbs after a workout will make all the work ive done on the run or anything else go to waste because fat will not be burned?

I really depends on what your goals are. I've always loaded up on complex carbs before a lengthy, intense workout and consumed lean protein sources afterwards.

Havent checked the link, but no eating carbs after a workout will not make you stop burning fat, utter bull****. Calories in vs Calories out for weight loss. Its as simple as that, there is a lot of bull**** that is spread about carbs stopping you burning fat, but it is not true. People like to over think, and over complicate things.
However, if these extra carbs are providing extra calories, obviously you will have to expend more calories to loose weight, simple.

Edit - Be careful when reading stuff online, a lot of people post a lot of ****, always question the things you read; dont just blindly follow them, and make sure it is actually backed up by scientific research, then you will do just fine;)!

This is true man. I think I have read so many conflicting articles on the net. You should do this then you read somewhere else you shouldn't do it.

Yes. It is that simple, its just most people decide to over complicate things. Fat = stored energy, if you expend more energy than you consume, you will have to get the energy from somewhere, and that somewhere is going to be your energy stores. Wether the energy you then burn is muscle or fat is decided by a number of different things that to be honest i cannot be arsed getting into.

if you want to lose weight then starving yourself after depleting glycogen will probably lead to your body using fat as energy so eating carbs after training can in theory stop you burning fat but this argument is a load of bollocks to be honest

a better argument for after training eating is something i read while back, tried it a few times not by choice but never followed it for a period of time (incase you ask mr small), it involves starving yourself after training for 2 hours which forces your body to use the lactic acid floating around from training to be converted back into energy and used to restore energy stores, thus getting rid of the lactic acid quicker than usual and improving recovery problem is with this imo is your muscles will not get the protein it needs but could be combated with a good protein meal beforehand, amino acid supplements and after 2 hours some protein

I was not trying to be a smart ass but I personal know it is not that simple . I know people that can eat three times as much as a normal person and never gain an ounce. For Others Carbs are like wearing a fat suit .Thats How quickly the gain weight. The Medical Profession and there buddies the DIEtitian (the capital were on purpose)do not seem to have a clue! People are different ,they have to find the right diet for themselves. calories in v calories out is horse ****.:) Fighters talk Diet and crap but most cut weight by fluid loss and then rehydrate .It is simple as that!

People have different metabilisms which is what burns off calories hence some people requiring more calories to gain weight but thats because they natrually burn more..............Calories in<calories out.
And you see people say i can eat as much as i want but i still don't gain weight, ive known a few and 1 of my best friends is one of the people you described. He was "eating" alot untill i made him calorie count what he ate in a typical day and WOW guess what wasnt alot. I dare anyone who says they can eat as much as they want without gaining weight to go mcdonalds for breakfast and lunch order pizza for the dinner and eat a tub of icecream and snack on chocolates etc and see if they don't gain weight!
