    Start the video around 11:40.

The DeLaHoya that fought Mayweather was already completely done as a boxer wanting to compete at the highest level.
He was Jittery, He couldn't get his shots off like he normally did.

He looked Shocking and it's plain to see from the opening round.

Compare that to The De LaHoy from the 2nd Mosley fight. He's got a bounce, he throws the jab with speed, he's reflexes are good. It's like 2 completely differant fighters.

Floyd split dee'd a faded ass Oscar.

Pac annihilated a faded ass Oscar.

But both would beat a prime Oscar, though.

Yeah, it's pretty much unanimously agreed that Oscar was a part-time fighter by then.

Of course he wasn't, however he was still ranked #1 in the division and was coming off a great KO of Mayorga.

And by coming off he means Oscar hadn't fought in a year...

Yes but those rankings are garbage IMO.

I don't men to diss floyd too much but De La Hoya was not the best fighter in that division at that time b a long shot.

Mosley was Number 1 welter when floyd fought him, but he wasn't the best welter IMO.

Same with Cotto now. He's ranked Number one jr middle which is crazy. Who'd he even beat to be ranked number one!.

Popularity plays a massive factor in the rankings.

I never thought Oscar at 154 was as good as he was at 147. His best win at that weight is over Mosley, who was never (ever) good at 154 and Vargas who was already past his prime (credit for that still a solid win). Plus consider he was 35 and its impressive he gave Mayweather so much trouble.

If you Split D that version of Oscar. Then IMO if the Oscar from Mosley 2 fight turned up that night, he'd have beaten floyd.

I'd say a prime Oscar has one of the best chances of anyone of beating floyd at welter.

I think most people would say he was faded.

To me, he looks completely done. Just looking at his movement in the ring.
And his inability to get his shots off.

That wasn't a prime Oscar, however, Floyd won that fight easily. 10 rounds to 2.

Oscar didn't fight for almost two years before Mayorga.. Before Mayo two years earlier he was ko'd by Hopkins at a catchweight. Before that a fat Oscar went life and death with Sturm.. Now how thee **** was he number one at 154?

ok well i'll try and think of exmples that don't involve your hero.

Alvarez is ranked too high at the minute.
Hopkins is ranked to high at the minute.
Zab Judah is ranked too high.
Mosey is ranked too high still

All ranked higher because of popularity.

Much, much closer than that. Floyd won but far from conclusively
