I'd say so. Froch is formidable but beatable. Kovalev has been a machine so far, at a higher weight as well. Beating Kova is huge. If Ward pulls it off he's gonna need bug spray to kill all the nutriders he will attract.
I dare say, this might even be better than Mr.Roberto Duran going up and beating Leonard. Same circumstances. Kovalev looking unbeatable.
Maybe if Kovalev had a KO win to Stevenson on his resume with Ward having moved up from MW rather than SMW. Then I guess you could start making that comparison.
