Flyod took the fight because it was the right time to take him on, there was limited risk to the fight and the shane interuption in flyods post fight interview still made people wonder about the fight
Shane and Floyd could have fought at 140 ,but No Shane skip the division and chase Oscar and when Shane stepped into the ring after the JMM fight ,He ask for it and got it ,point blank .
Mayweather wanted a piece of Shane in 1999 when he was still fighting at 135lbs but struggling to make weight. Floyd says Mosley ducked that fight and Shane says he already confronted Mayweather live on some satellite radio show and PBF said he'd rather clean out his division than face him. Who's right, who's not..who knows ? After the Vargas fight, Mayweather asked Mosley for a fight and Mosley said he wanted time off. I think the real possibility of DLH stepping up to fight Floyd made Shane say he wasn't available. Imagine Mosley beating Floyd before DLH getting a shot at him...not a good result for the boss, DLH's possible earnings. Last May, Mayweather was running out of credible options to fight and when Mosley became available, I think he just didn't have a choice to go with it. It paid off in every way !
he tried in 2006..shane didnt want it....SO FIRST SHANE HAS HAD TOO MANY FIGHTS AND "FLOYD WAS TRYING TO CATCH HIM COMING OFF 2 B2B FIGHTS" BUT THAN WHEN FLOYD HIM ITS ONLY CUZ HE HAD A LAY OFF. FUKIN *******S SO STUPID..DO ANYTHING TO MAKE MANNY LOOK BETTER... U GUYS FORGOT THAT FLOYD TRIED TO GET THE FIGHT IN 2006 OR SOME BULL$HIT? I MEAN CMON NOW ARE ALL OF U THAT DUMB?? REALLY??
Shane ducked floyd back then He went on vacation [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lfidZDmNjI[/ame]
:rofl and the oscar that floyd fought was past his best too Oscar prime years where the late 90's early 2000's. Floyd fought him in 2007. Floyd's best wins were corrales and castillo, two fighters who will be rank below barrera and morales on the ATG:hi:
You forgot to mention how Floyd try to make the fight with Shane twice before when Shane was on top of his game. Shane did not want the fight then. The only reason why Shane started to call him out now, is because Floyd is one of the top fighters in the sport today.
No one likes to bring that up cause Shane's a warrior. I love Shane. The dude obviously ducked Mayweather in the past, and ducked Williams more recently. No one likes to bring up how Cotto and Hatton were both ringside for the Gatti fight, and after it wanted no part of May at 140. But it's ok, let these suckers have their moment. I can form my own opinion.
I thought Mayweather took the fight because he had no other option and was backed into a corner? Pretty sure that was a common opinion floating around here back in February.
What have their ATG rankings got to do with it? It's not as if Pacquiao beat a prime Morales and he didn't lose to a prime Morales either. Chico was a higher ranked P4P fighter when he lost to Mayweather than Morales was when Pacquiao beat him too.
Then scroll back to January and you'll find people saying Floyd doesn't have the stones to step foot in the ring with Mosley, the true Welterweight Champion. Then he did it and they changed their minds.
