What planet are you from? Kostya was a Great champion and as for Tim we'll see good watching Tim work through Australia's best and taking the challengers I don't know if Kostya fought for an Aussie title I think we had a jewish jr welter champ then l.o.l that would have been a mismatch!

    Kostya was a phenom

Almost as impressive as Inoue today

He either would KO you or get KO'd trying

And Tim has inherited some of his power, but not his defense

Remember when Zab Judah was supposed to beat him, because he was so much faster, had power and was undefeated?

The first few lyrics describe how that whole scenario played out.

    I remember (I remember)
When I used to play shoot 'em up
(Shoot 'em up, bang, bang, baby)
    I remember
When I chased the girls and beat 'em up

But I was young and didn't understand
But now I'm a grownup man
I know girls are made for kissing
Never knew what I was missing
Now my life is not the same
My whole world has been rearranged

I thought the same thing originally and watched Tims first fights with my own eyes. But Tims development is out of sight now and hes proven me wrong. Kostya kept strict notes and books on his training. Tim follows the same regime as his father and keeps the same team as his dad too for the most part. On top of learning from his Dads mistakes hes whole family and life is just boxing. Tims rise has been very slow and calculated and he has put in the hard yards. Proved its not always essential to have strong amateur background.

He would relate to Canelos principle- No boxing, no life

King Kostya lost one fight between 1989 (when he lost to a 1988 Olympic gold medalist as a teenager) & 2005 (when he lost to Ricky Hatton in the UK in his last pro fight). That's a sixteen-year run with one defeat (yes, to Cool Vince) while facing the best amateurs & professionals who were willing to face him. He claimed the World Amateur Championship at 139 lbs & the Undisputed professional championship at 140 lbs.

Timmy's tracking about the same. He would have begun his amateur career as a 14-year old & is now 28. He was 31 and 1 as an amateur (losing to 2016 Olympian Daniel Lewis who he also defeated twice) & is 23 and 0 as a pro. Timmy needs to stay unbeaten for another couple of years to equal King Kostya's run of one defeat in 16 years. Also needs to get one of the big Doodles to face him in order to go Undisputed.

Kostya was not overrated at all. Tim is atm though he has beaten nobody really. Kostya stopped Zab who was a p4p fighter at that time from memory and a beast who had it all.

As far as the original question goes (though it was posted by a troll)...

His father is worthy of consideration as an ATG at 140 lbs. It took a combination of advancing age and Ricky Hatton at his best to bring him down.

I suspect Tim will not get to that same level. But the 154 lb division looks like it's getting stacked over the next few years, so maybe Tim will have lots of opportunities to make a case for himself.
