I don't completely disagree with this.. But based on the recent standards he should get in, there are far less deserving guys who have made it. Think you had a similar sentiment when we discussed Moorers eligibility, for me Moorer and Adamek are far more worthy than Gatti, McGirt and some of the other recent inductees.
Chambers out boxed him with one arm. Narrowly beat Arroela. Should have lost to Cunningham in the rematch Ducked Pulev Lost every minute of his fight against Vitali
All this at a weight which wasn't his best, plus he beat a better version of Arreola than Wilder did. Yet he arguably has better wins at heavyweight than Wilder.
Very good fighter. Dared to be great. For me he's not a hall of famer, but he has an argument based on some of the other inductees sitting in there. 51-5 3 divisions he was quality in all 3. Interesting study. But he falls short imo
His resume is decent. Tough man, good skills, a bit outgunned at hw as Vitali showed. I would say he's worthy.
He's borderline, but a case could be made. He hurt his legacy by moving up to heavy in search of bigger money fights, but he still had a good degree of success there.
I think he falls short of HOF status. He was a champ at LHW but not "the champ" He was "the champ" at CW, and HW he wasn't all that highly decorated. Good career but not HOF.
