is Tommy Morrison up there with the All Time Greats

As far as limited punchers with shaky durability, Oleg was better. Fought more contenders and at least has three our four good wins to hang his hat on.

 

Maskaev better than Morrison? No

 

Morrison was a better athlete and more skilled, but did he ever pull it together to knockout someone as good as Rahman twice or even a Jefferson? Nah.

Foreman and Ruddock are impressive in name only, Hipp is ok but I wouldn't put him with real power punching contenders like Rahman or Jefferson, as limited as they were. If Morrison mixed it up with McCall, Tua, a fit Johnson, or even Peter, he would probably have just as many bad losses. And I'm not sure Morrison is beating Rahman, and Jefferson is a toss up.

Oleg was badly mis-managed, getting thrown to the lions his entire career, and he still picked up more noteworthy wins and title belts than Morrison, who dropped the ball continously despite careful management that saw him struggling to impress against even hand picked burn outs like Carl Williams that were suppose to make him look good. Morrision's excuse? "Black fighters fight harder against whites, even if they are cans." hmmmm.

On his best day id pick him over Morrison. BUt anything less and id take TOmmy.. THat would be a good thread, good matchup only make Oleg a slight favorite.
