He last fought months ago and according to boxrec he isn't set to fight again until April! With the very low level of opponents he's faced so far the last thing he needs is a long lay off, a prospect like him should be fighting at least once every two months but trust Frank Maloney to **** up in that department!! Assuming he ISN'T actually injured of course.
Was due to box on Feb 5th in Notts but injured his hand. Fingers crossed he will be out again soon. Perhaps on the 19th March bill in Leigh.
when there at this level and fighting very limited oposition , they dont even need to be telvised bouts ( i know money rules) they need to rack up a **** ton of wins while slowly steeping up the quality of opposition
Sorry, couldn't resist I've never thrown a punch in my life other than on the rugby field.... and I'm confident I'd have a winning record against Tony's opposition. He's a good prospect but **** me they are moving him slowly :-(
I agree. Far to slow IMO...:yep I wonder how long it is before they lift the bar...:think Makes you wonder if they are waiting to see how the others do... Hope they don't trade him in at some point if they don't think he is up to it by putting him in above his class...:-(
I've no idea. Maybe because he sells tickets? There's no need for top amateurs to face such cannon fodder opposition, we aren't asking for him to be thrown in with heavy handed domestic contenders in his first three fights, just someone that can actually box - preferably with a bit of form. Anyways.... line him up for a domestic tilt within the next year, you can't just keep someone on the leash because there are other decent fighters in the division.
You can see that's what they will do if he is a ticket seller which he is...:yep He was on the Haskins v Broadhurst card in Newport, he probably sold more tickets than most of them put together...:yep He will defo keep packing the shows out for his promoter...:yep
Well if he can get people to travel from the north east all the way down there.... But Maloney ought to show a little vision and stick him in with someone decent, think how many tickets he'd sell for Jeffries vs Groves or DeGale? Dickinson maybe? You still going to the show in Huddersfield?
