I honestly don't think Trinidad cares either way. Has Felix ever given any input on Cotto in an interview anyone? (I have always been interested in hearing his opinon on Miguel)
Tito doesn't care ... he's a legend ... no matter what ... it seems most of the time that Cotto was living in Tito's shadow.
simply logic tells us that puerto rico is not big enough for two superstar boxers. ****. look at mexico with barerra and morales. mexico isn't big enough for those two. simple logic dude.
@ Cotto's age ... Tito had already won 5 world titles ... unified in 2 weight classes ... had fought in over 20 championship fights ... and had fought alot more undefeated champions. David Reid Fernando Vargas Oscar De La Hoya Yori Boy Campos Oba Carr .... along with Hector Camacho and Pernell Whitaker ....
I am willing to bet that Tito is at least somewhat happy with last night's result. I think that he wants to be remembered as the sole/most popular Purerto Rican fighter of this generation and he viewed Cotto as a threat to his popularity . I remember how Tito claimed that Judah would KO Cotto in a few rounds back when those two were about to fight, and when Judah came to Puerto Rico for a press conference he did some roadwork with Judah.
Trinidad and Cotto are buddies. I dont know why anybody ever believed that they had beef. This content is protected
Trinidad is a man of the people. Cotto just seems arrogant. Kind of like the old Johnny Tapia-Danny Romero wars. Both the same age, from the same hometown, and one was looked down on because he dressed in Armani. Whereas, Tapia, never really left the Barrio, and dressed the way he had even when he was poor. The people loved Tapia because he was one of their own. Romero on the other hand, as great as he was, was percieved as being an "Oreo" (Not my words folks, just watch a copy of their fight in 1997 and listen to the entrances.)
