I think we can agree, for beating a prime version of Evander Holyfield, the best heavyweight of the last twenty five years is Riddick Bowe.

So I guess I have to answer the posters question with one of my own.

Is being considered #13 All Time by the IBRO good enough to be considered an ATG?

Or is that title only reserved for the top 10?

Any list with Joe at #1 is a respectable resource in my book.

Tyson brought more new fans to the sport by himself no matter who he was fighting than other any other fighter during my lifetime, Tyson wasn't just a fan favourite in his own country either, he was a fan favourite across the world, i mean Tyson even sold over 20,000 tickets here in Scotland for his fight with Lou Savarese, i find it hard to belive anyone could think Tyson wasn't an ATG.

Those fans got their moneysworth just with his "I'm coming for you Lennox" rant

    No doubt for me.

I'm not going to argue on his position in the list of ATG's as that is too subjective, but his achievement as the youngest HW champ of all time and his 80's campaign certainly do enough for him to warrant ascention to that level.

No matter what you conclude - Mike Tyson 86-89 or so is a handful for any HW fighter at any time in history.

1st of all putting a bum like Hatton in the same sentence is ludacris, and Tyson beat many undefeated skillfull fighters in his era,Tucker who actually stpped Douglas before he fought Mike,Pinklin Thomas who was dominating before Mike came on the scene,he beat Wheatherspoon very convincingly,Tyrell Biggs a amazing speciamen who could'nt keep his life straight, probably the most gifted boxer since a prime Holmes all these guys were very skilled boxers, and there had never been 2 guys in the heavyweight division with jabs like that and thats not including Wheatherspoon, past primed Holmes, and plenty with good jabs and Biggs and Thomas would beat both Klitszco bothers and everyone else in the heavweight division.Tyson was not in his prime in any of his loses, with Douglas he wasnt ready for that fight and probably should called that fight off which he really won, because douglas should have been counted out,a prime Tyson would killed Holyfield and Lewis,Bowe and Wheatherspoon would have been his only comp,if they trained which they both had enormous problems with, all you rookies that dont know **** about boxing needs to STFU,this is the worst era in boxing, its pitiful, hell yeah Tyson is ATG a Prime Tyson would beat any heavyweight, any!

Im a Tyson fan, his career set was the first I bought, I waited years for him to finally end up on a half-decent boxin game. The face is people say 'look how good a 88 tyson was'. In 88 he beat Holmes, Tubbs and Spinks. Only Spinks has his 0 and he was a LHW fighting 45lbs lower only 3 years before. Holmes was a good win no doubt as was Tubbs (who has lost a few fights before to Witherspoon) but people saying that an 88 Tyson would have beaten anyone is a joke. How can beating a fat LHW and 2 other good fighters who had already lost make you assume that.

Just for the record, Tyson is an ATG actor.....in The Hangover.

Being the youngest HW champ ever seals it.

don`t mention the Lewis or Holyfield fight with Tyson.Tyson deteriotated even after his first fight with Bruno when he started to get tagged by shots plus all the issues he had outside the ring.To be honest you have made an irrelevant question because as things like that has happened to him it will allways be debatable whether he is an atg.If them things didn`t happen, like it didn`t with Lewis and Holy he would be atg,and don`t compare him with beer and chips Fatton for for ****sake.
