Of course he does. How can one argue guys like Jack Johnson are all time greats but not Mike Tyson?

But his resume is not as good as Holyfield, or Lennox Lewis and many other HW
he made himself a name(actually it was don king and his hype) KOing bums! He lost to every fighter who he could not intimidate... he was just a boxing bully with a verry entertaining style! He was nowhere near the warrior Holyfield or Vitali was...
yet more rubbish written about tyson was ruddock tucker thomas berbick biggs intimidated the answer is no and the biggest myth of all is tyson lost all the big fights he ever had wasnt the micheal spinks fight the richest fight in boxing history up to that point tysons an atg whether people like it or not how many fighters would have beaten the dedicated tyson when he was trained by rooney it seems to me when tyson beats fighters there written off as bums or washed up yet when tyson loses fights when he was undertrained douglas badly faded holyfield and tottaly shot to pieces lewis the same people who slaughter tyson on here choose to ignore it:deal

Absolutely NOT! Mike Tyson wasn't great at all, let alone an ALL-TIME great. Mike Tyson lost to EVERY fighter he EVER faced that wasn't intimidated by him. Now, Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield, those are ATGs!

Depends on how deep the list goes. Is he a top 10? Probably not, but definately in the top 20.

It is not Tyson's fault that when he arrived on the scene that their weren't other fighters for him to face. After Tyson's stint in a juvenile facility (that's right, the state of Indiana was afraid of what would happen to him in general population so they had him in a juvenile place), he was never the same fighter again.

The pre/post **** Tyson is night and day, and is like two different careers.

What can't be argued is that pre-**** Tyson was the biggest name in boxing in a LONG time and brought boxing back to the spotlight to many people who didn't even follow the game. Ask most people now and they can't even tell you who the HW champ is. Back then EVERYONE knew who Tyson was and watched him.

He beat some very good fighters in style.Spinks and Holmes were both great fighters. One was small and the other old but Tyson still took them apart and is the only person ever to beat Spinks.Tucker went on to be a champion again and fought at the top level for many years which makes that an impressive win for Tyson. He beat everyone around at his peak and lots of those guys had been world champs.OK the division was pretty weak but a lot of those guys would hold thier own against the crop we have now.Id say Mike is an ATG for sure.

Stupid post. Just shows how shallow the knowledge of posters is in the general forum. There should be another forum below the general forum for posters like you.

What ATG fighter did Lennox Lewis beat? Was Holyfield in his prime??What ATG fighter did Holmes beat? Was Ali in his? You dont have to beat a prime ATG fighter to be an ATG.
Noone has unified the titles separately since Tyson did it. Noone has won the title younger than Tyson. Tyson is an ATG, his accomplishments speak for themselves. If you knew anything about boxing you would know his competition was pretty solid as well. I usually dont respond to these idiotic threads, but some of the comments by people like you are just hilarious and idiotic at the same time.:hi:

Bull****, there was a good majority of press and so called boxing experts picking Spinks to easily outbox Tyson.

A good majority picked Spinks, a career LHW that had been inactive for a year, to easily outbox the undisputed HW champion, the most feared man on the planet?
I don't remember that, maybe one guy said that but that is hardly a good majority.

Im sure if you look on the internet, you'll find that many press people were predicting Spinks to be a live dog. Its only after the one sided blowout that capable fighters like Spinks and "old" Holmes are reduced to bums, faded, too small etc.

I'll accept that a few had Spinks as a live underdog, but I don't remember anyone, press or otherwise, saying he would easily outbox Tyson.
