Edit-the punch does not hit Tyson's head. Using stop motion, it can be concluded with a great deal of certainy it was stopped by Mike's shoulder and arm. The bottom of Evander's fist makes impact with Mike's shoulder region. This was a very interesting experiment none the less.

I realised he was hurt watching it live and no matter how many times I watch it now nobody can convince me he wasn't momentarily stunned from that shot.

    Woah, hold on a minute.!
In the other thread, you were stating that the punch wasn't a head shot and that was the main issue!

    Your exact words were :-

" I took it upon myself to slow the footage down. The right hand clearly makes no contact with Tyson's head. "

That should be the topic being discussed

Certainly not "clearly" hurt. Only if you hate Tyson, probably.

Where is the option in your poll for " The right hand clearly makes no contact with Tysons head " ?
That was the issue i was debating.

    Lol.
How does " neither clear " relate in anyway to " The right hand clearly makes no contact with Tysons head ".
    Talk about sidestepping!

Your first two options begin with " clearly lands to head "
Your third option " neither " obviously refers to the first two.
Nowhere have you provided an option for the point being debated, where you stated the punch clearly missed the head.

It's the same thing. If you don't think it CLEARLY landed, that's the option. Breaking out the difference between Miss, Clearly Miss, Maybe missed...is kind of redundant. Keep it simple.

I think it clearly makes contact. As far as whether it hurts, I can make an argument either way based on what I want to see. If I don't want it to have hurt, I can see it as stuffed, perhaps even nearly abandoned as Holyfield had to shorten it while Tyson's head closed the distance. If I want it to have hurt, I can analogize it to the super-short shots that someone like Duran or Dempsey used to good effect.

But with Tyson's head or neck/shoulder area?

    You provide 3 options.....
1&2 both state that the punch clearly lands to head.....
Option 3 simply says, neither clear.....

Please explain how any of that relates to my contention of you stating:-

"" The right hand clearly makes no contact with Tysons head " ?

If i were you, i would stop digging that hole!

It definitely stung him. But he weathered it well.

Whether or not it hurt him might be down to semantics.
