You want to focus on the left hook that knocks Tyson into the ropes because it suits your theory, that Tyson was hurt and fired back. That’s the obvious punch that stood out but I believe he was more hurt or stunned a few moments before when he allowed himself to be pushed back to the ropes, he didn’t fight back right away, was a bit disorganised then gathered himself to fight back. The commentators from the Sky commentary agreed with my theory that Tyson wasn’t used to taking punches and was stung by that right hand. In the first round Tyson wasn’t really hurt in my view, he was just reacting to being hit and showing some bravado. I also don’t think he was hurt bad in some other exchanges. I don’t really have an agenda, its more a theory, I can see you have a good case in some areas but I think you are ignoring the facts of that exchange, its like someone has hypnotised you to ignore that short right hand landed and how it effected Tyson briefly. The more clips you show of it the more convinced I am it landed. I did see doubt in Tyson in 96, he tried covering it by doing the short hitching thing and stuff like that but he was surprised by Holyfields spirited effort. Did you see Mike’s face after he landed his famous combination in the 5th, he was like “what the hell do I have to do to hurt this guy”. He wasn’t used to this and in the 6th he really knew he was in trouble. Which leads back to my main theory that he was more robust in 91 and just would have continued trying to land punches, win or lose. I can concede Holyfield played a big part in Tyson’s discouragement, I just like to see the fight from different angles. My intention is not to wind you up by the way, I'm just responding to how I see it. its the only point of yours I totally disagree with.
I have reviewed the individual frames there is no sign of a landed punch on Tyson. There is no effect on Tyson. Czyz never called the punch or said Tyson was hurt. I produced Czyz's actual quotes. You just keep saying Czyz said without quoting him, I quoted him...That's the end of the matter. I don't even know how Holyfield can be right or wrong in this situation. It's funny, this punch you remember so clearly being impressed by was never brought into the discussion by you. It wasn't until I posted a clip and asked Riski if that's what he was talking about in Round 2, that you jumped on the bandwagon.
Not a theory, an observation. In most of the exchanges, Tyson tries to get the last hit in as he does in almost all his fights, it's his thing. I posted a huge batch of clips that support this. This individual sequence in no way shape or form invalidates my observations, I'm just calling it like I see it. Why on earth are you crediting a smothered punch that happened several seconds previously when all this occurs after Evander turns a missed punch into a gorgeous spin move that forced Tyson into a quick reaction he wasn't expecting. https://streamable.com/btjaa I can't view the Sky broadcast, it is blocked here. The Showtime broadcast, Al tells us Holyfield missed the left hook and Czyz mocks the crowd for reacting to Tyson being on the ropes many seconds later. Czyz's commentary is pretty worthless and borders on insane throughout the fight as he is still grudging against Evander over their fight, all he keeps repeating through out the fight is how Tyson is in control and Evander is about to get knocked out. Interesting. The same bravado you said was missing. You are just reading what you want to read into it and I don't form my opinion on that sort of thing. Tyson's face is quite stoic and he just looks for his next punch.
Tyson was clearly hurt so unless you believe a punch to his shoulder staggers him then the punch landed in a vital area.
This is not clearly hurt. " Tyson reacting to a surprising spin move, probing glove pushed in his face, and foot entanglement." https://streamable.com/btjaa
Cobra you're clearly hurt on this matter, let it go. We can't always be right all of the time, this is the case for you here.
Tyson was hit cleanly. On the head. It shook him. Clear as day. Like Rski said, "The more clips you show of it the more convinced I am it landed." Tyson shuffles his feet like he's briefly dazed. Clear. As. Day. BYE FOR NOW This content is protected
Uh...you asked for a poll, more than once. I didnt really find it to be significant as my point was already made without this sequence. You made your case, so I'm not sure why you keep popping in when you think I'm gone to talk smack.
So you believe Tyson shuffles his feet after the right hand. Nothing happens between? What's interesting is my interpretation takes into account everything that happens, the "clearly hurt" party has to edit out some things.
You and most of the "clearly hurt" party can't acknowledge what happens before Tyson shuffles his feet.
No, the gif where Tyson "shuffles. " What actually prompts Tyson to shuffle? https://streamable.com/btjaa
