Is Tyson fury actually that good or did he just catch klitschko at the right time?

    He’s technically gifted, no doubt.

I do feel though that a tall aggressive fighter, with some talent will land big on him, as Fury lacks power.

There’s already the narrative that Fury needs to go 12 with Wilder.

I didn't think it was much of a shocker. Around the Povetkin fight and his fights afterwards Wlad was relying more and more on his clinching and even out right fouling his opponents as his timing and in-ring abilities continued to decline. In the Jennings fight the referee wouldn't allow Wlad to clinch excessively and when Wlad fouled Jennings the referee quickly and sternly warned Wlad that if it happened again he was going to take a point. Imagine If Povetkin and Pulev had the referee Jennings had.

I knew Wlad wouldn't be able to get away with clinching Fury like he did to smaller fighters. Also, Wlad's combination punching, reflexes, and timing were long gone by 2014. In the Pulev, Jennings, Fury, and Joshua fights Wlad was badly struggling to put punches together. Also, Wlad was having calf problems going into the Fury fight, which was most likely due to age. This same calf injury prevented Wlad from fighting in 2016.

Plenty of people picked Fury to beat Wlad.

Ricky Hatton was shocked so many people were picking Wlad and said he thought Fury would beat Wlad easily.

Laila Ali went as far to say Wlad was shot and that any of the top fighters back in 2015 Wilder/Fury/Joshua/Ortiz would beat him and put him into retirement.

Gassiev also picked Fury to beat Wlad , since he said that Wlad had looked old and beatable in the Jennings fight.

He was just a bit better than a 40yo wlad , McBride was also “better” than Mike Tyson.

I also think it’s a blend of both

Klitschko was obviously on the decline but to be fair, Fury is very elusive, mobile, and fast

combine those attributes with his enormous reach and it’s hard to deal with

Like him or not, you have to be impressed with his elusive, slick mobility, and his fast hands and effective counter punching ability

I think fury is the best heavyweight out there, currently fighting

I don't think he would have won vs a prime Klitschko but he's still good enough to be a live dog vs anybody around at the moment

If he can’t get into his head leading up to the fight, I think he gets KO’d also.

If he can work up that Fury magic and throw Wilder so far off his game, he could win.

Wlad had never faced a guy of his size with his movement. He took him completely out of his comfort zone. That fight was boring AF though lol

Fury never did any magic , wlad was old that’s it . It’s like saying Mcbride did his magic and threw mike tyson off his game

Neither. Tyson Fury was very very smart, him and his uncle saw a major weakness in Wlad thats been there a long long time and they took full advantage of it. Why hadnt it been done before? Cuz nobody was good enough or smart enough to do it. Wlads awful timid performance that night even shocked himself. To this day i believe had they rematched there was a good chance Wlad beat Fury. This is also the reason we saw a much more pro-active Wlad against Joshua.

Team Fury got everything right from day 1 of the Klitchko build up.

I think it was more down to his style being problematic for Wlad more than anything. Sometimes you come across a fighter who is all wrong for you style wise. Ali always struggled with Norton though Foreman smashed him who Ali beat. MAB lost ton Junior Jones twice and nobody can say MAB wasn't the better fighter, he just matched up poorly style wise with JJ.

I don't think any version of Wlad has an easy time with Fury. Maybe if Steward had still been in his corner the master tactician Steward could of prepared Wlad and found a way to win.

So as for Fury's ability I don't think he's as good as the Wlad win suggests as he had an opponent that suited his style as long as he stuck to boxing from range. But Fury had legit ability and skill the Chisora win alone shows he wasn't just another pretender but a genuine contender. But question is will Fury be another Bowe or Douglas and be a fighter that can only put it all together for a very short moment in time and then never be the same again.

fury is as special as the dog**** in ones backyard. he has a duck list approaching ten. he has the glassiest of chins, little power, and far overrated skills. let me know when he beats a decent, prime fighter. i'll never hear from ya, because it will not happen.

bum ass fury caught an old man on the right day.even then neither guy did squat. he then ran like a ***** from the career high payday, contracted rematch. the fight itself was a good reason boxing is dying quickly.

I like Tyson, and I want to see him comeback and clean up, but he's blatantly beatable, always has been. He's always gonna look slightly out of shape, bit like Bellew, that's there look even when fit for 12, adding muscle instead would defo slow him down. I'd say trim down as much as you can safely and stay away from the muscle and concentrate on movement, stay fluid, as its his movement that will win him fights. He really needs his Uncle back imo
