Is Tyson Fury becoming overhyped?

He has proven he can beat on fat balding men without much skill.That is all I have seen so far.Did his mgt. hire Warren as matchmaker?

I have never seen him fight but heard about him, it was about time to hear about him again given his "unique" name. But does he really fight like "Sky" Fields?

 

He fights nothing like Tye Fields.

 

the lad is only 20 . come back in a couple of years and see what hes like . much better then tye fields ever was . just coz hes white and tall thats only comparison

 

Is he overhyped? Only by himself and the people around him. Compare the hype around him with REAL hype-monsters.

Does he have potential? He's a 6"9 boxer (who might be as tall as 6"10 or 6"11 by the time he finishes puberty) with a high workrate, fast hands and good skills for someone of his age and experience.

Given that he probably won't be reaching his physical peak for at least seven years and that he probably won't reach his overall peak for over ten years, he has a lot of time to mature. He's taken on some experienced and dangerous journeyman so far.

Zakman: if he has a poor chin, he clearly hasn't found out about it yet. He faced an opponent with an 80% KO rate (with 20 knockouts in 21 wins) so it looks like we'll find out pretty quickly if he's got a glass jaw.

 

No. He throws lots of jabs and likes to use either the long left uppercut to the body or a short right uppercut in close. He has a lot of lateral movement as well. On the downside, he switch-hits (and not in an adroit way) and his defence depends on his speed and height. Given 3 or 4 years of quality training and learning fights, he should be a very intimidating figure, unless he has (a) a glass jaw or (b) mental problems.
