I am not the biggest Fury fan and i will admit the resume isn't ATG level but i feel like people have been underrating him letely. I can't talk with my feelings, i have to be objective and the truth is he's a H2H force and was able to beat Whyte easier than anyone yet. Deontay Wilder is the 3rd best heavyweight in the division behind Fury and Usyk and Fury. Fury ended Klitschkos reign. He toyed with Chisora easier than anyone else. He's very good but he just needs to stay on top of the division He's like Mayweather. He isn't one to take on all comers but regardless his resume is good and he's among the most skilled fighters in the history of his weight class
If anything he's becoming overated Surprising amount of casual fans have told me they think he's the greatest ever British heavyweight...and people couldn't live with his height size and movement. He's also really hyping the **** out of beating wilder the "greatest most dangerous puncher of all time" to add to his legend
Fans will be fans. I just think it's ridiculous how people write off his achievements. He beat Klitschko in his backyard as a huge underdog and ended his 10 year reign. He beat the WBC champion 3 times and won every belt there is to win. He has to do more to be an ATG but he's an excellent boxer
No argument here..but listening to him talk up the wilder wins and some of the things you'll hear fans parrot that they heard are enough to turn you off a fighter.
Overrated He beat a clearly past it Wlad in one of the worst Heavyweight championship fights ever. Turned out he qualified for it by using peds. Avoided the rematch like the plague. He fought mediocre opposition inbetween his only 5 titlefights, and is very lucky to still be undefeated. Of all champions he's not one that can defend regularly against all comers to defend his belts. He would never stitch together a long defence streak unless he pulls a Wilder and only fights guys that suit him. And even then with his dips in form and conditioning I don't think he would hold on to a belt for very long. All in all, overrated.
Roided up against Klitschko, went on a bender, beat Wilder (fair enough) but won't entertain Usyk. Lucky not to have his fight waved off vs Wallin.
Doesn't seem like anybody here's giving him credit. He seems just a dat bit underrated. Had Usyk, Joshua, or Wilder went into Klitschkos territory as a underdog and outboxed him 9-3 they'd be immediately great, but when Fury does it Klitschkos shot. Im not a big fan of Fury, he deserves some criticism but he's got a good resume. Klitschko, Wilder 3x, Whyte, Chisora 2x. Not ATG obviously but arguably the best in the division as of now (unless you count Usyk's cruiserweight resume) You can only fight who's available
I feel like theres too many people on this site giving him way too much credit. The wilder and Klitschko wins were great but other than that his resume is kind of weak imo.
Underrated ? he is the most overrated HW in this century. Suddenly beating Wilder means he is the best ever. like WTF people ? Nobody was saying anything positive about Fury when he beat old Wlad. These UK hype fans are pathetic.
No just certain people on the forum are posting threads to try and minimize him currently. AJ is the most overrated HW of this era This is the Fury era Usyk is a great man, an ATG cruiserweight but when he faces a real modern heavyweight who isn't a big stiff idiot the skin will come off the potato.
