Yes, I am a bit surprised he is rated so low.

Tyson was trained to beat Holmes ... his camp (cus and rooney) studied Holmes and prepared him (tyson) for years because they though a young tyson would have to beat Holmes in order to be champion. It's the same with Holyfield studying Tyson.
    So I say Tyson wins.

    1. Youngest heavyweight champion of all time
    2. One of the few to have unified all available titles
    3. One of the few to have cleaned out an entire division of its best talent
    4. Holds one of the fastest KO's of another all time great
    5. Undefeated in first 37 fights with some 9 title defenses
    6. Regained a fragment of the title after years of inactivity.
    7. Was somewhat of a small heavyweight who dominated a division of super heavys.
    8. Has somewhere around the 3rd largest number of first round KO's bested only by a select few, who's first round KO's came against more or less tomato cans, rather than rated contenders.

    ......Works for me.....

Michael Spinks was not a heavyweight. Winning the title young only shows how the pathetic the division was.

Mike Tyson never beat a world class fighter in their prime, Mike Tyson never got up from a knock down to win a fight. Tyson was knocked out 5 times in his career which is alot. Mike Tyson fought against people like Bruce Seldon who took a dive against him.

Yet he was actually a heavyweight. I mean 205 plus pounds and actually fought against people of all races unlike the Jack Dempseys who werent heavyweights to began with so sure Tyson would probably be in the top 10

Holmes never beat a "world class fighter" either, and most have him Top 5, all-time. Tyson arguably took on better competition than Holmes.

And THREE of Tyson's "5 KO's" came when he was far, far gone and overweight and undertrained. He was almost 20 pounds overweight for the Lewis fight. Also, Tyson was the type of fighter that has a short shelf life, like Frazier. Tyson at 36 was comparable to other fighters at 40+, in terms of how past it they were.

    #1 - Ali
    #2 - Marciano
    #3 - Louis
    #4 - Liston
    #5 - Schmelling
    #6 - Baer
    #7 - Walcott
    #8 - Lewis
    #9 - Dempsey
    #10 - Tyson

LOL most amusing list I ever seen, We all have our own beliefs but give me a break
Walcott , Schmelling , and Dempsey but no Foreman, Frazier ect ect ect? Why do i have to keep saying this. Dempsey, Marciano, Tunney, Walcott werent heavyweights so why keep putting them on the list?

Holmes didnt fight any world class fighters in their prime so I agree with you. Ken Norton was knocked out by Shavers and Cooney when he was past his prime but people still think he has a glass jaw so the same applies for Tyson.

Tyson would of knocked out any fighter pre Sonny Liston with ease because of his skill and size so he is a top 10 guy but he is not as good as most of you pretend he is.
