19 fights ....it seems like the guy doesn't do "filler" fights or "warm up/tune up fights"...

i guess Witherspoon and Chisora to some extent but he was also moving up to HW

    Everyone has filler fights

Most boxers don't want filler fights but timing and business gets in the way more often than not.

I mean his last 10 fights were
    Joshua
    Chisora
    Witherspoon
    Bellew
    Gassiev
    Briedis
    Huck
    Hunter
    Mchunu
    Glowacki

Witherspoon is the only one that can be considered a filler fight and the only reason he fought him was to have a warm-up fight at HW.

Now look at boxers like Fury, Wilder who fought 3-4 good men in their whole career spanning over 30-40 fights while Usyk has 8 good men in his last 10 fights

Witherspoon was a late replacement who stepped in on four days notice after Usyk's original opponent Tyrone Spong popped dirty for PEDs.

Usyk's opponent for his official HW debut was initially meant to be Takam

'He was supposed to debut at heavyweight against battle-tested former world title challenger Carlos Takam on May 25 at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland, but Usyk suffered a torn right biceps and was forced to delay his entrance into the division.

While Hearn would have preferred to reschedule the fight with Takam, Star Boxing promoter Joe DeGuardia signed Takam and they elected to go in another direction.

So Hearn made a deal with Spong, whose participation in the bout was contingent upon his winning a tune-up fight on Saturday night in Merida, Mexico. Spong knocked out Jeyson Minda in the second round and came away from the fight with no injuries.'

Still crazy that he was about to fight Spong, he's a kickboxing legends but has no business with being in the ring with Usyk

It was Usyk's official HW debut and he'd been out almost a year and was coming back from a serious injury (torn bicep) so it was more understandable given the circumstances.

Nice to see someone who didn't think Spong was a total nobody.

Usyk's going for all time great status and turned pro a lot more seasoned than Wilder or Fury so you can't exactly say their buildups should've been the same.

    Wilder's last 10 ...

    Tyson Fury
    Tyson Fury
    Luis Ortiz
    Dominic Breazeale
    Tyson Fury
    Luis Ortiz
    Bermane Stiverne
    Gerald Washington
    Chris Arreola
    Arthur Szpilka

Deontay's last 10 blow Usyk's out of the water.

Usyk hasn't faced anyone as good as Fury. Deontay's fighting him for the third time. Arreola beat up Witherspoon when Chazz was actually a prospect.

If Wilder fought Chazz or Bellew or Mchunu or Chisora or Glowacki he'd have been villified then.

Usyk could fight basically everyone in Wilder's list in his next fight, except Szpilka and Stiverne, and people would be fine with it because they would still be good wins. Fury would be the biggest fight of Usyk's life.

Good thing Usyk didn't fight with a torn bicep against the unranked TAKAM.

Imagine if he'd fought Tyson Fury with a torn bicep that needed surgery to repair? Can't imagine how poorly that would've gone.

    ;)

Come on. Let's take Fury and Joshua out of the equation.

Briedis, Gassiev, Bellew, Hunter and Glowacki are way better than Wilder's best win in Ortiz.
Chisora is about as good a win as Luis Ortiz.

    Ortiz is a glorified journeyman.

Why? Fury is the best heavyweight in the world. Wilder is fighting him for the third time. He would be the best fighter and the biggest fight of Usyk's life.

Ortiz was ranked higher at heavyweight than freaking Usyk was until about eight days ago. Ortiz has been ranked in the Ring top 10 (and still is) since before Usyk even won a cruiserweight belt. Hunter isn't even rated higher than Ortiz now, let alone then.

If you have to remove FIVE of Wilder's last 10 fights to make your point, you don't have a point.

Wilder's last 10 blows Usyk's out of the water.

You guys seriously need to catch up.

Just acknowledge who he's fought, for God's sake. It's no skin off your back. He's fighting the best heavyweight for the third time.
