There is no question that this man is HoF bound if you take a look at his resume. One of the best resume's for the small weights in the modern boxing era. Wins over Perez Mijares Arce Kirilov Pacheco a controversial draw that should be in his favor with Gorres. and 2 close losses in a weight class higher than his natural weight against Mares and Agbeko. 2 weight champion defended 10 times Unified 3 belts at super flyweight (1st time ever been done) This is much more significant than what Wonjongkam has accomplished and Im sure we can all agree that he's defintely going into the HoF. So how about it, has he done enough? Or is he hasnt accomplished enough to join the 90-100 echeleon with the likes of Joe Calzaghe and Benny Lynch.
Top 100...no. HOF? A strong case with all the TV bouts and accomplishments, but I don't know. I hope so though. He brought a lot of attention to his neck of the woods, weight division-wise.
He's definetely going into the HoF no doubt in my mind. I guess its just a question if hes a first ballot or not. A title in the bantamweight division for being a 3 weight champion would seal that imo.
There won't be many threads in the future of what if he had of fought this and that person, cause basically he has jumped in with every top fighter in his weight range over the last few years, and now he is way older than a lot of them and still kicks ass.
First guy to unify 115. Impressive streak of championship fights. Doesn't take tune ups or soft fights, it's pretty much all quality. I don't have him in the top 100 ATG. He got dominated too easily by Donaire. I think that fight exposed his limitations. Actually, I have him far enough away from the top 100 ATG that the question would have never, ever occurred to me. Still, he has achieved a lot, and is a real crowd pleaser. I'd expect him to get into the HOF.
as much as I dislike him he deserves HoF recognition. beating Mijares and Arce aint bad. But I feel HoF is based more on how much the boxing world likes somebody than a perception of ability.
I hope you are not considering Vic for not making top 100 because of the Donaire fight. For all we know Donaire could be the next best thing and a guranteed ATG. He definetely has the potential for it.
Well he is better than a couple guys in the Hall.. I say he just sneaks in... But no he is not a top 100 Atg. Imo guys like Calzaghe and Tszyu just get in the top 100... ANd i wouldnt rate Vic as high as them.
I could see him heading for the HOF, he's got consistency and quality wins, but I can think of 100 better fighters than him easily.
should make HOF. but unless he beats donaire in a rematch,(not gonna happen) then moves up another weight and picks up some titles, he dosent make the top 100. great little fighter though
