It's a bad analogy, actually. That guy implied that because Frazier had a losing record against top fighters and got in, then Vic could do the same, completely overlooking the vast significance of Frazier's best win as compared to Vic's, ie overlooking the difference between them that actually matters. It does seem like I'm dealing with some pretty thick individuals on this thread. It's a shame we'll need to wait a few years for me to be proved right and you guys to be proved dead wrong. :smoke
I'm getting bored of this. My response to you is the same as to that last chump: Hopefully Vic rematches Donaire or Agbeko soon, we can discuss this matter again after that happens. Deal?
Easy to say that after the fact. Pacheco had defended his title several times before he lost to Vic. Also funny how you claim Donaire was earmarked for greatness early in his career when he wanted to quit boxing several times before he finally got his shot.
If Tszyu made HOF, Vic should. Vic has done the same maybe even more, has been more active and didn't stick to 1 weight class
Yeah, that's really interesting. A guy can't have looked good in his fights in the ring if he had apparently said to people he was considering quitting. Those two things are directly related. Great point.
This is tiresome, I agree. Ultimately, my analogy made the point I wanted it quite succinctly. And Vic, at this stage, is not HOF material IMO. Unless he rematches and beats guys like Donaire, Mares and Agbeko. Which he won't. And I think I'm ready to move on to another thread now. We'll see. :good
I'd agree he has the best chance against Mares. That's a fight he could win. I also wouldn't favour him at all against Agbeko and Donaire. I actually think Agbeko beats him more convincingly in a rematch. Either way, I put a lot of stock into wins over prime, top fighters, and for me one excellent win over Mijares and a TD over Perez just doesn't cut the mustard at all when it comes to HOF calibre achievements. JMHO.
Thanks but its not as great as you determining who is earmarked for greatness from the start of their career and yet has only been heard of after pulling off an upset. Steve Forbes win over Bojada must be a top tier win now since Bojada was earmarked for greatness. :hey
You evidently weren't aware of Donaire until he hit the big time. You should track down some of his old fights. I won't say anything else as I'm not on this forum to ***** and argue. Contrary to what you might think, I actually really like watching Vic Darchinyan... but to me that's a different thing entirely from evaluating whether someone merits HOF inclusion. JMO.
