PS : some 50 year old legends just fought a sloppy stand up fight , Vic must have liked it .

Probably given tickets from gary shaw who also promotes mma fighters.. or from showtime if it was a showtime event. ...a lil wave and self promotion does good

Alot of aussie fighters be that boxers, kickboxers or mma artist are seen regularly at local fight cards other then that of their chosen profession.

Darchinyan has mentioned having a go at MMA in the past.He comes from a family with strong wrestling pedigree.Father was a european champ who has competed in the olympics.

There's no reason to assume he's contemplating a switch; he has plenty of money left to make in his twilight years in boxing.

In MMA he'd likely just get hurt in a hurry, even though he has exactly the kind of striking that could translate successfully. He's fairly old in fighter years and doesn't have the best reflexes, I can't see him stuffing a shoot very well, and once on the ground he'd be submitted or pounded out in a flash.

Vic wrestled in armenia growing up.As i mentioned vic dad was a very good wrestler in his own right.Have had a few articles in oz papers saying his father wanted him to pursue wrestling rather then boxing when hitting his adult years.

Im not saying Vic would have world class skills other then in his fists but he would actually be one of only few boxers who has some experience in grappling etc.

Yea I doubt he moves into the cage from the ring but having that kind of genetics if he did want to go he'd be formitable. unbeleivable power crazy stance and wrestling knowledge. Thats a good base.

i think Vic would absolutely murder his weight division if he connects with the smaller gloves he would kill someone

If he connects yeah, but I can also see him being a bit wild/open too. Either way he's having a good go at things and I'll be watching if he does fight.

Vic is to small for the UFC leightweight division, there is a organisation owned by the UFC called WEC which showcases the lightweights/bantamweights in MMA. Vic would have to gain alot of weight if he wants to bang with BJ Penn and the likes in the UFC, they are all very very big compared to him. I met Gray Maynard a UFC lightweight in Sydney for UFC 110 and the guy made me look like a midget and i usually crush the scales at 80 kegs. Was utterly bemused with the size of him for a Lightweight in the UFC.

Vic mentioned in the Daily Telegraph recently that he has aspirations to fight in the UFC, he said he'd like to have 3 or 4 fights.

    Interesting. :think

I'll definitely watch, but it just doesn't seem like the best idea for him.

MMA is really taking ff here in oz(sydney especialy). We get around 500 to a thousand plus paying audience at my local area fight cards which consists of very low level fighters.

And our biggest organisation the CFC which is sometimes headlined by Hector Lombard is televised on our cable t.v sports network and get a solid 2-5 thousand in attendence.

Vic unfortunetly would struggle to get much of a audience here in oz for a fight. And hes a p4p fighter(not saying top ten).

Boxers are smelling $$$ by way of MMA i think.

Australia is nuts! I'll never forget watching the UFC that was held in Australia. The crowd was INSANE! It was ****ing great! The energy was like nothing I've ever seen. Closest I can think of is when GSP reclaimed his title from Serra at UFC 83. If I could fight anywhere in the world...anywhere...it'd be Australia, hands down, no question. Those fans are the ****! And smart, too. They cheered hard for very little things that make a significant difference in a fight. It was awesome to see. Educated fans! Smart SOBs down unda!

Were the Impact FC Uprising events heavily promoted there? IE on television, in print, etc.?
