I had him up there after the Mijares fight. Like Margarito, he beat an actual P4P-er, he just did it more dramatic fashion dominating like Hopkins up to the knockout. How does that not qualify him?

Now with Calzaghe retired and he put Arce away, No7 or 8 should be his place. I mean come on, The Ring had Williams up last year (6 months after got schooled by Quintana) and Caballero (Molitor is not on Mijares level).

    Clearly a top10 P4P-er.

Hard to see how a guy holding the 3 straps, isn't.
He seems to be getting better with age, and destroyed Mijares and Arce with ease.

I have him at 12-13 P4P-er, he should'nt be placed at top 10 for beating Arce! Arce is way past his prime....

I don't like him, but he has to be on the basis of knocking out Mijares, who I had at 5, and being the undisputed champion at 115 holding the 3 best belts. Doesn't move up for beating Arce though, I have him around 9/10.

His performance against Mijares was so good that people simply assumed Mijares had been very overrated and had performed badly too on the night. Price of being too good, I guess. Darchinyan is much better than he was the night he fought Donaire - who wasn't a bad fighter then either. The level of performance Darchinyan displayed in his last two fights is very high indeed. Timing, distance, defence, focused strategy, ringcraft, it was all there on show against Arce, not to mention how exciting and dominant he is.

I don't see how you can say that when the majority of people are placing him in the top10. Doesn't hold together.

If people simply assumed Mijares had been very overrated and had performed badly on the night too, then why is Darchinyan now being ranked in the top10 by most?

and I think Darchinyan is very much the same fighter he was against Donaire but he has just not faced that style of opponent since.

"The Ring" had Mijares in at 6 before Darchinyan destroyed him, if I remember right. Darchinyan is still not in their Top 10. Someone like Caballero, for example, is. Explain that, if you can.

    Politics.

Not even the Showtime commentators suggested he was a pound-for-pound fighter, if I recall correctly, and they have a stake in him now.

No, I don't think most fans consider him Top 10. Most people on ESB might, but that's another story.

But all of this is immaterial, unless rankings are supposed to mirror strictly the level of performance.
