James Toney's interview when Benn and Eubank were in the studio prior to their rematch was classic dissing of the WBO. Along the lines of....... ''The WBO?'' ''We don't even count that!''
I was asking Beeston And Carl Froch is just 1 fighter who's opinion doesn't hold much weight. Also, PBF often said he only recognized the WBC. And Froch only said that **** because Inkin has the WBO now.
The Toney interview will have been 1993ish - it was a prime time BBC chat show, neither Benn or Eubank knew the other was going to be there, and didn't know that JT would be on the blower. Toney dissed Eubank as a challenger rather than it being a unification fight (Benn had the WBC at the time) - there was a deal in place for the winner to take Toney on, but as the fight was a draw nothing ever happened.
