Darchinyan will be in the HOF when his career is ended. Whether based on what he's done or whether he adds to it, he is one of the major faces in the lower weights. He's the big money fighter at fly/super fly - this should not be underestimated, how many 115-pounders get the attention of US TV - he has stopped tough Arce, brilliant Mijares & title holder Kirilov in his last 3 fights. He's a 2 weight champ, beat a quality fighter to become champ at 112 - Pacheco - and is one of the great punchers in the game with an extra dimesnion to his boxing. He's stopped numerous tough guys, and despite defeat to Donaire, let's at least praise Vic for being a risk taker. The likes of Humberto Chiquita Gonzalez and Michael Carbajal are in the HOF due to their considerable accomplishments and their significance i.e. actually making their weight a lucrative division for a time. Vic has outlasted most of the guys he could not get in the ring i.e. Pongsaklek Wonjongka,, a guy who fought hardly anyone good & struggled late in his career with routine foes. Outlasted Lorenzo Parra, a simply exceptional boxer who fitted in 5 excellent WBA title defenses in 04/05 before falling apart with weight woes (last seen, Parra was at 122 giving Caballero a tough fight)...The biggest test could be Argentina's Omar Narvaez, who stopped promising Raytona Whitfield last night. Sadly Vic's promoter has already been messed about trying to make a fight. Hopefully Showtime will try and make it happen. Montiel will just run, Donaire a bad opponent. Narvaez has the talent and the stats. I would love to see this.
Maybe so. He has accomplished a lot, but I have always had my issues with fighters that look like they belong on schindler's list. I usually don't watch fighters that are that damn small.
im right there with you. a guy has 2 or 3 good fights in a row and dumb asses on this board start talking hall of fame. ignorant **** heads on this board
**** olff dumbass, two weight division champion, unified three major belts, NEVER turns down a fight, looking to move up with a VERY decent chance to win a belt or two. AFTER BOO YOU ARE THE MOST BIASED POSTER ON Eastside, ****ing douche!
Not yet and probably not ever. He doesn't have the chin to win HOF type fights I don't think, and that will hurt him as he moves up and takes on the ellite fighters.
If he keeps up this thirst for the tough fights and performing like the Mijares one he;ll be looking good. I think a Vasquez fight wouldn't be a bad idea - Vasquez odometer will have dropped significantly over the three epics with Marquez - It's the type of all action fight that would just rock. Donaire needs to be fought again I agree.
