For my money, no. He is not ruined. He could bounce back from this. He is 22 and has a lot of skill, and I, for one, admire his realistic outlook. He needs to learn to box smarter, and I think that is something he can still do. I guess the big question is whether or not he's mentally strong enough to still desire to be great. If the desire is still there, I think he can still make a name for himself.
Khan didn't quit, he was lights out and did the very thing Ortiz refuses to do. Go out on his shield.
i think his realistic outlook though admirable that he readily admits it, is also an indictment of his desire to be one of the true greats in the game. the greats hit the wall, and somehow find a way to get over it even when there is nothing left in the tank.
That post fight interview didn't do him any justice, fight fans don't want to hear a good young fighters say stuff like that. I was dissapointed in his performance and also his words
He don't have what it takes to make it Further than tonight in this sport. He headlined a fight at the Staples @ 22, Sounds like a story for the grandkids, IMO. Don't see Him coming back from this tho. Don't have the stomach for this.
Might as well be his 10th. He damaged his reputation beyond repair tonight w/The post fight interview. getting Knocked out would have been better.
He's done. Just listen to his comments after the fight. He's not a true fighter, at least he doesn't have the heart of one.
