Will Vitali man up enough to give Solis a rematch seeing that it was an inadvertent injury that caused the fight to be stopped and not a clear knockout? Vitali fans always claim that Lennox Lewis was afraid to grant Vitali a rematch. Now that the shoe is on the other foot will Vitali man up and face Solis once again or will he keep on chasing tomato cans?
While there are some parrallels with Lewis/Klitschko, like Solis winning the fight up to the injury, Solis was shockingly so easily hurt by a relatively light punch from Vitali that a KO is inevitable in the rematch. While if a rematch were to occur, I'm sure Solis' hand speed and counter punching will give a faded Vitali problems like it did for the first few minutes of last nights fight, once Vitali lands a decent punch Solis will go down again. There were unanswered questions after Lewis/Klitschko but I'm confident we'd see Solis flat on his back again in a rematch, so no rematch is warranted.
I don't see why he wouldn't - if there was a chance of it happening. Solis is going to be out of the picture for a long time. His knee will need to be reconstructed. Do you know what happens to fatties when their knees go? They get fatter. Solis will need to be extremely dedicated to become a contender again, and it might take him a good two years before he reaches the point where he is back in contention. Will Vitali still be fighting when Solis has recuperated?
If it's an ACL injury, Solis won't be back for a year. No point even discussing a rematch right now. Solis I'll say will have a hard time getting another fight on a K2 promotion unless he works his way back up and forces it as a mandatory. He caused them so much embarrassment. The arena was full, there must have been 20000 fans there feeling ripped off
Who would ever pay to watch that bull**** ever again? Even the German fans were completely disgusted. And they are use to useless Felix Sturm title defenses, complete mismatches and such. Lennox was offered over 20 million dollars to rematch Vitali.
There is no reason to give Solis an immediate rematch. He got knocked out, so if he wants another shot, he'll need to work his way back up. Add the injury into the equation and he won't be a factor in the ring for a long, long time.
