Ol' Johnson was / is a pioneer bad-ass.... No doubt he was highly skilled in the craft of self-defense...

I rate him very high cuz I'm partial towards old-timers, etc....

Could Johnson of 1910 beat V.K. of 2004 in a time machine? Hell, I don't know...

If how you matchup in H2H determine if you're an ATG? Then I think Vitali would be awkward for any heavyweight in History.

I think it's more based on your career, level of opponent you faced etc. On that basis he's not top 10.

I would ask though has there ever been a better heavyweight, at the same age in heavyweight history? Any of the other contenders should look at Klitschko especially the level of conditioning, performance etc as a way of how to prepare and carry yourself as a champion.

Yes and I saw the state of Vitali's face. Scorecards only matter if it lasts the distance, which it didn't.

Foreman would do great against a huge fairly stationary target like Vitali.

Yes he wasn't a true one-punch KO specialist, but his combinations were destructive and he has some single-shot KOs and plenty of one-punch knockdowns.

Joe Louis demolished bigger men than Vitali e.g. Abe Simon, Primo Carnera. Louis clearly is the more skilled boxer as well.

    All time no

    At his weight still no

but he is a head to head nightmare and could potentially beat any of the top heavyweights who ever lived

    exactly as i thought..

JJ couldn't beat middleweight Jake O'brien, Joe Choynski and bum ass Jim Johnson...and dinosaur appologists tell me that JJ would KO a 21 ft century 6ft.8 250lbs giant with granite chin, who never been to canvas let alone KO'ed...yeah right:lol::lol:

Knowing that JJ got KTFO by Joe Choynski and floored by another middleweight in Ketchel, i fear what a 250lbs man with great workrate will do to him.

Old fighters are best to be let in the past; they don't have any business being compared with modern boxers.

I like Dempsey like no other, but that still doesn't stop me recognizing that Vitali would absolutely brutalize any version of him.

btw....Vitali beats the **** out of at least 60% of those fighters you listed.....:hi:
