I don't have him in my top 10, but a certain hall of famer.

Unfortunately, he needs that career defining win, and the only possibility today to give him that is his brother... and they aren't fighting.

so vitali is top 10 ever? you are a freaking moron.

he has 6 world title fights in 6 years. he lost 1. he won title beating corrie sanders and has defended it 4 times .
doesnt take much for you to get a guy ranked up there does it?

    Except it's not though.

All eras have had bums littering the resumes of the top fighters. That much is true.

The difference is, all of the fighters you mentioned had a couple of other great fighters against which they could prove themselves. The only other great fighter this era has is Wlad, and they will never fight therefore neither can be properly gauged against other all-time greats.

So far, Vitali's career defining fight with another fighter who can be considered in any all-time list was a loss. A loss he performed well in, but still a loss to a fighter past his best.

Vitali will make the Hall of Fame, but since there are new inductees every year even though there are not new "all-time great" fighters every year, making the HOF is not that hard. You just need to be famous, not great.

Vitali klitschko reminds me of the '86 Bears in the fact that they were so dominant during the 1986 NFL season and couldn't be challenged...the rest of the league seemed so mediocre because of how dominant they truly were.

Vitali Klitschko would be a tough fight for any Heavyweight throughout history because of the intangibles that Vitali possesses: Size, strength, toughness, chin, intelligence.

Just like the '86 Bears would be a tough matchup for any team throughout the history of the NFL.

Vitali is an ATG...not because of resume...but because of the intangibles and dominance.

Vitali and Vlad are cleaning out the heavyweight division. They are fighting the best fighters they can get. It's a shame that Haye refused to fight them three times! Vitali and Vlad are fighting top ten fighters even in their voluntary fights!!!!!!!

OK, so you seem to be saying that if a fighter beats another fighter twice that the losing fighter can't be ranked above the winning fighter. Which is just as silly. You seem to be confusing head2head with pound for pound.

Bottom line: somebody ranking Holyfield below Tyson (very common) is hardly a reason for an attack of hysterics.

Couldn't agree more...I've never understood the legacy talk. It's hard to think of more than 5 boxers in history that could be betting favorites against Vitali.

Can you please explain to me what Pinklon Thomas's ATG status and the relative size of two era talent-pools have to do with one another?

    He's a minor great.

His competition is very thin for great status, but he has a great record, multiple titles, a freakish KO percentage even for the competition level, has never been down, and win or loose, has been in some incredibly exciting fights (Lewis and Sanders, I an thinking of). The comeback is a great story.

    I say he needs a capstone, someone like a...I don't know...David Haye.

I would rather watch a small hall amateur show than a Klitschko title fight.

Wladimir has some skill but that other one is awkward, slow and awful to watch. In the main these guys win due to genetics. I admit they are fine athletes but Vitali is particular fights like an ape.

Where is the grace of Ali or Holmes? Where is the counter punching of Holyfield or the ring smarts of Lewis? Where is the explosive combination punching of a young Tyson? Answer? Nowhere! Sure they can hit guys and hurt them but being that they are over the 250lb mark that is hardly a surprise!

I watched Wladimir against some other East European dude (forget the name but he beat an ancient Holyfield) and was disgusted. Neither guy is an ATG in my opinon, they are mediocre heavyweights who get by on size, strength and a dip **** division!

How can he be above Lennox Lewis? On the virtue that Lewis has the vastly superior resumé and beat Vitali H2H while past his prime and overweight?

If you can find old issues of Ring Magazine several hundred articles will describe Tyson as a blown up cruiserweight he rules a talentless division. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I believe he was the recognized champion by Ring after the Sanders fight...
