Theres a fight that happened in 2003 you may want to view and start endless threads about, its a fight with Vitali that is not very well known and has never been discussed before on ESB.

vitali would give tyson a slow beat down over 10-12 rounds..it would be ugly becoase tyson could take alot of punishment..dont get me wrong..tyson would have a chance..id just favour vitali..'i like tyson'.

ban. What's this with tyson having problems with taller guys? everyone was taller than him. what kind of sorry **** argument is this? Tucker for example beats the **** out of Vitali. guys back then knew how to box, while these bums Vitali is fighting, don't. Vitali can't even dream of catching Ali in a 15 rounder and there's no late in the fight for Vitali with Ali. So what if Holmes had a tough fight with Cooney? what does that prove? Holmes in his prime destroys Vitali by 9. Dempsey would be in his chest like tyson, a devastating ko by 5. Lennox was undertrained past his prime and he still beat him. and most of the guys mentioned above would kill lennox that fough Vitali.
And the bottom line is... it seems I have to write it down again even though somebody above said it before me... greatness is not measured in HEAD 2 HEAD COMPARISSON!!

-Vitali got beat by Lennox Lewis, and the rest of the active heavies, well who are they? Heavyweight division has been shallow for years and although Vitali is a great heavy he will not go down as an ATG for this reason.

-To say who he would have beat had they fought is pointless.
No one knows for sure and you cant make these assumptions and credit
    Vitali with the accomplishment.

There is a difference between "Greatest" and "Best".
Ali was the Greatest followed by Joe Louis determined by wins, quality of opponents, longevity, social impact and newsworthiness.

as a big tyson fan i admit vitaly would be a big problem. vitaly is super smart in the ring and wouldn't get intimidated.

however, the thing is that the lewis fight shows that an elite hw (the only one vitaly has faced) can land on vitaly. look at sanders too (who is/was not elite).

yes an older lewis and prime tyson are completely different fighters and lewis is near equal in size/reach with vitaly, but tyson's speed and the volume and variety of his shots (compared w/ older lewis) would make it entirely unlikely that vitaly's gonna "wear him down late." this wouldn't be anything like the opposition vitaly has faced like a peter or danny williams who pack punches but are complete 'slugs' compared to tyson. Tyson would be inside and all over him relentlessly and vitaly wouldn't be able to avoid shots on instincts and smarts like he can against the rest of the b level comp he's faced. yes tyson would have big problems with vitaly because of the height/reach and toughness of vitaly, but tyson will out land him over the fight (b/c of the speed and volume plus he was a great pfp boxer at his peak) and doubt tyson's chin will give out so i'd favor tyson in a good fight

vitali is the victim of being in a **** era.

i'm no klitchsko fan but imo vitali gives problems to any heavyweight who ever lived.

i would love to have seen

    bowe v vitali
    tyson v vitali
    holmes v vitali
    lewis v vitali 2

Yes and he's no where near the best either.

What is up with this crap anyway? Are people really this delusional? What has Vitali done to give people these ridiculous ideas? Who has beat, let alone fought? His best opponent was an old, over-the-hill Lewis (who he lost to).

He's looked like absolute shite against tomato cans. He has no skills whatsoever. He's an awkard, slow, B-class fighter who fights with his hands at his waist. So he beat Chris Arreola, now that makes him a favorite against some of the greatest HW fighters who've ever lived? GET THE F* OUT OF HERE.
