In terms of greatness that's a much trickier question to answer. Ultimately it'd depend on who you ask. Greatness is an incredibly subjective quality.

 

H2H should be the main factor.. I dunno about oblit.. it's up for debate.. maybe Vitali would win..

Louis was a very dominant champion and extremely skilled. He also had a very powerful right hand that could knock out any HW in history, and that includes Wladimir.

Wlad would have a significant size advantage in this match but Louis was tough as nails and very crafty. They have some similarities in the sense that both men were criticized at their peak for their competition (or lack thereof,) but they were both by far the most dominant fighters in their divisions for at least a decade (in Louis' case, it was well over 10 years of dominance.)

HW fights are tougher to speculate (in comparison to the lighter weights) how the outcome would turn out just because the size of modern day HW's gives almost all of them a major physical advantage.
