He had VERY good reflexes. Prime examples of them were in the Danny Williams and Juan Carlos Gomez fights

Sanders struggled to land on him and I never saw my man struggle to land on anybody as much as on Vits.

Very true. That fight was definitely another example. Especially the 4th round

Oh yeah those hall of fame names put Vitali over the top. Lol. Either you were great and dominated your era or you didn't. And the size argument...all I have to say is Louis would win because he was greater. All you can say is today's heavies are huge lol. Just stfu lol...

P4P, maybe so. But H2H, Louis would be facing a nightmare. Vitali is huge AND has skills.

Sanders RIP? Sanders did land on him! It's just that Vitalis punches did more damage.

Head to head Louis wins. Louis had 25 titles defense. How many did Vitali have? Was Vitali even a lineal world champion? Or you're just going by size? Lol

You're an idiot dude. And it's funny you hack on Vitali for "All those Hall Of Fame names!" yet your boy Louis was the proud owner of 'The BUM Of The Month Club' Lol

If Max Schmeling could crack out Louis I'm pretty sure prime Vitali could manage the same.

I like Vitali, but he wasn't half the man Louis was in the ring. And if Lennox could slice Vitalis face up I'm sure Louis would do the same. Louis beat Schmeling in the rematch. Vitali didn't face Byrd or Lennox in rematches.

    Just stfu lol...

Yeah I'm sure Vitali was just TERRIFIED of Byrd in a rematch!! Lol

And we all know why that Lewis rematch didn't happen don't we?! :)

Vitali Tko Louis inside of 8. STFU

Hey Beet! You're confusing H2H and ranking based on accomplishment. I don't think anyone if their right mind disputes whether or not Louis ranks higher than Vitali based on accomplishments. It's the H2H debate that's interesting.

Look Frankenstein, size alone wouldn't be enough to beat a legendary fighter. And if Byrd was able to stalk Vitali Louis could too right Frank? I must badake yu!

Everybody agrees Federer would beat Rod Laver but have you seen the modern rackets ? Same with golf , baseball ,
cricket they are like clubs with massive sweet spot. Its not a fair playing field. I know i have dodge the question shame
on me but the real question should be how would Joe Louis go with modern techniques against Klitscko ?

Byrd was well behind on the cards are really only began to have serious success after Vitali sustained a serious injury. Anyways, Byrd and Louis aren't remotely similar apart from their size. That fight isn't really a good indicator of how the fight could go. Adamek and Hide are a lot more similar to Louis than Byrd FYI. Louis would have to walk through a lot of leather and overcome Vitalis size and reach in order to win... I'm not sure he could do that. There weren't any big men in Louis' era who could fight and box like Vitali.
