Is Vitali making a mistake by not fighting a dust buster before Peter?

It will have been four years since he was in the ring. Why on earth would he choose to not take at least one tomatoe can to shake off the ring rust before stepping in with a guy like Peter? I am sensing a bit of over confidence on Vitaii's part. Maybe he was simply did not want to risk having to get thru two training camps and getting injured once again.

    Your thoughts?

No, because then he would have to get through two training camps before a meaningful fight (as you said). His age also makes every month mean a lot.

No,I don' think so,he needs to stay focused and train hard,at his age he can't take a toon-up

Yes. Better to fight a tomato can and shake off the ring rust than to come in cold against the #2 HW and get ktfo.

Because compared to Vitaly, Peter is a dust buster.

Exactly. The chances of him being injured AGAIN would be compounded. He might as well take his shot now that he has it in his hand.

No point straining himself against a dust buster. Peter will be easy enough.

    No, Peter is ****.

If he can't beat him he should go into permanent retirement.

peter is a tomato can compared to vitali and no way is vit going to make it through 2 training camps and a fight without an injury so this is a **** or bust fight

Yeah, from a health perspective, but NO, from a money and hype perspective! What if he went 12 rounds against a journeyman, would anyone be interested in seeing him take on Peter next? On the other hand, Peter might really hurt him because he is so rusty. The whole match-up is fishy.

Probably would be wise to blow the cobwebs off.

Its going to interesting to see how Vit comes back but im struggling to get excited about this. We have had nothing but recycled names in the heavyweight division since Lennox retired.

Peter is a dust-buster, he just happens to be holding a belt. If McCline can put you on your ass as many times as he did Peter, Vit shouldn't have any problems.

I think he should have fought someone else first. I expect him to look a little shaky in the first 2 or 3 rnds. I suspect Peter will "Bull rush" him and try to take him out early.
