I know this is somewhat controversial but here me out fellas.

Vitali has been dominating the heavyweight division for years. A decade in fact. This guy cannot only punch, but has a great jab, iron chin, superb workrate and a lot of heart.

The thing is that you can forget about the heavyweights from the past. People will say why? I'll tell you why. Times move on. Things evolve. If you look at Usain Bolt, can you say that he would lose to Jesse Owens? NO. If you look at Cristiano Ronaldo? Could you say that Pele was better? NO. Just look at the techniques of fighters before the 90's for ****s sake. They had terrible technique by todays standards, and also did not have access to modern sports nutrition and conditioning. I'm talking about stuff like plyometrics which makes a huge difference too power and speed.

Modern fighters are faster, stronger, bigger, better conditioned, and more technically sound. FACT!

So that only leaves the guys in the 90's. Now Tyson was good, but Lewis showed that a skilled fighter could beat him. Holyfield was just a blown up cruiserweight with heart. He was good, but not on the Klits level. Lennox was probably the best out of the lot in the 90's.

The thing is though, Vitali, taking the fight on short notice was owning him. He only lost cuz he has sensitive skin that rips easily. This isn't skill on Lewis' part, it's just luck that he was up against a fighter that rips easily. That's why he didn't want the rematch. Lennox wanted no part of Vitali. FACT! So if Lennox is the only realistic competitor and even he loses? who the hell else can you put ahead of Vitali?

This is how I would rank them

    1. Vitali
    2. Lennox
    3. Tyson
    4. Holyfield
    3. Wladimir-chin lets him down

Ali, I would consider more ahead of his time, like Bruce Lee, but still not great by modern standards. I mean, he struggled with Henry Cooper who technically wasn't great either. People just like to get all romantic when talking about the past, but the fact is, these guys were only able to go 15 rounds because they weren't putting in as much effort per round by Todays standards. And don't say that I've probably never watched Ali. I've seen most of his fights on ESPN and he couldn't box on the inside. Don't get me wrong, he was damn good for his era, but the sport evolves.

Like I said, the sport evolves As for Ali not having to fight on the inside, I take it you didn't watch his fight with Frazier?:roll: When Frazier got on the inside what could Ali do? **** all.

And so what if Lennox beat Vitali? vitali was WINNING ON POINTS! anyone can get a cut and lose the fight because of the ref stopping it. Doesn't mean they are a lesser boxer.:patsch

Is there a single fighter who is considered to be great, who has such basic technical flaws with things like punching form or footwork? Someone like Foreman was wild but he was in a different league to Vitali.

People can talk about his chin, power etc.. Those things can either be underrated or overrated because of the simple fact that Vitali hasn't proven them against high class opposition. What we can accurately judge is his technical ability and that is, without question, very poor.

You honestly consider 80s Tyson's power, speed, combinations outdated? You rate him from the 90s when he was significantly better in every facet in the prior decade.

And that's coming from a Brit.

Vitali Klitschko proved he is one of the greatest heavyweights of all time. His record speaks for itself.

I can comfortably rank him as a Top 10 All Time Great Heavyweight.

By the way, this idea that fighters are more technically sound is bull****. Completely the opposite of reality.

:rofl Dude doesnt know **** and is trying to own me:rofl

As for Tyson, he was good, don't get me wrong, but one dimensional. A guy with reach, height, and a stiff jab like vitali would deal with him the same way lennox did.
