Wow, the wonders of modern science! the only thing about this slow kid is that he has downs syndrome and should have been aborted before bubby gave birth! :thumbsup

    To answer the question.

No Vitali is not the greatest heavyweight ever

He is not in the top ten.

He is not in the top 20.

He might not even be in the top 30.

He is not even the best heavyweight of his own era.

Vitali has been dominating the heavyweight division for years. A decade in fact. This guy cannot only punch, but has a great jab, iron chin, superb workrate and a lot of heart.

The thing is that you can forget about the heavyweights from the past. People will say why? I'll tell you why. Times move on. Things evolve. If you look at Usain Bolt, can you say that he would lose to Jesse Owens? NO. If you look at Cristiano Ronaldo? Could you say that Pele was better? NO. Just look at the techniques of fighters before the 90's for ****s sake. They had terrible technique by todays standards, and also did not have access to modern sports nutrition and conditioning. I'm talking about stuff like plyometrics which makes a huge difference too power and speed.

Modern fighters are faster, stronger, bigger, better conditioned, and more technically sound. FACT!

So that only leaves the guys in the 90's. Now Tyson was good, but Lewis showed that a skilled fighter could beat him. Holyfield was just a blown up cruiserweight with heart. He was good, but not on the Klits level. Lennox was probably the best out of the lot in the 90's.

The thing is though, Vitali, taking the fight on short notice was owning him. He only lost cuz he has sensitive skin that rips easily. This isn't skill on Lewis' part, it's just luck that he was up against a fighter that rips easily. That's why he didn't want the rematch. Lennox wanted no part of Vitali. FACT! So if Lennox is the only realistic competitor and even he loses? who the hell else can you put ahead of Vitali?

This is how I would rank them

    1. Vitali
    2. Lennox
    3. Tyson
    4. Holyfield
    3. Wladimir-chin lets him down

Ali, I would consider more ahead of his time, like Bruce Lee, but still not great by modern standards. I mean, he struggled with Henry Cooper who technically wasn't great either. People just like to get all romantic when talking about the past, but the fact is, these guys were only able to go 15 rounds because they weren't putting in as much effort per round by Todays standards. And don't say that I've probably never watched Ali. I've seen most of his fights on ESPN and he couldn't box on the inside. Don't get me wrong, he was damn good for his era, but the sport evolves.

He is the best of the worst HW division in history. That does not make him the greatest ever.

You can rule a division for years when there are no real challengers and you can have a great KO % when your knocking out sub par opposition.
