How is he underrated? He competed with Lewis pretty evenly and he got credit for it but didn't win. If anything, he's overrated. Solid career but other than would've & could've's, what's his best win? Sanders? Good wins over "B" opponents but nothing stands out.
Took Lewis’s best uppercut he’d ever thrown and kept coming. His chin was Tex Cobbesque. If Vitali had his brothers power… Lewis would have been out by that 2nd round.
Checking in here after two days. As I'm typing it's tied at 26-26. So at least as far as the voters here indicate - Vitali isn't too underrated or overrated. IMO he was a great HW and had a fabulous career. His biggest weakness was being somewhat injury prone. The main reason he took a lengthy break at the start of the 2nd half of his career. Dr. Ironfist was a force at ~40 y/o; as was his brother.
