with all hes been through its just so good seeing him back but i dont feel hes done yet.
what better way to cap his career. finally justifying the hype around that prodigious 19 year old kid if he could pull one last brilliant performance out of the bag against the spider.

i cant shake the feeling of destiny around this fight.

    WAR VITOR!!!!

    For **** yeah he could.

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAP will be the sound when he lets those fists of fury fly!!!

50-50 fight that comes down to execution.

Silva showed his mental toughness last time out. Belfort isn't very mentally tough relatively speaking. He is a front runner.

No. I dont give Vitor much of a chance. He's long in the tooth and he's drop to 185 wont make much a difference long term to his career. Silva will out strike him quite easily.

I understand peoples hesitation in backing him but if sonnen can clip silva ive got no doubt vitor can.
the difference is if vitor catches him with anything close to a good shot there will be another 90 coming behind that one.

How are you going to compare Sonnen with Vitor? They're two entirely different fighters? :think Sonnen beat Silva by controlling him from the mount. Vitor is a stand up striker. He has good JJ but he's about as competent as Silva is on the mat. This will be a stand up fight. A fight that Vitor cannot win.

I think he meant Sonnen was able to clip Silva a few times in the stand up
I agree, will be a stand up battle though. This fight depends on Vitors footwork and if he can close the range and avoid Silvas counters. Im not expecting the war most people are tbh

Depends if you consider getting brutally knocked out special or not.

When i say stand up war i do mean that quite loosely. Silva and Belfort are very much counter punchers who are in love with their hands. I dont envisage this being a very exciting bout. But i do expect Silva to complete out strike Vitor who has always been weak mentally when things dont go his way.

I think he can IMO Anderson has slowed down slightly. Go look at the Sonnen (a southpaw) fight he was able to nail Anderson very hard early with some big left hands and even dropped him by boxing rules (Anderson's glove touched). Vitor is faster then Sonnen and carrys alot more power. If Vitor can land like that who the heck knows what will happen.

Vitors hand are fast as ****, but his footwork is almost always stationary and planted when he throws his flurries. If Anderson danced around Maia you sure as **** can bet your house that he aint gonna trade with Vitor. Which leaves vitor the problem of forcing the action and getting countered. Interesting fight

Maybe Vitor decides to take the fight to the ground ? Dont see much of it but Vitor is pretty decorated grappler and has a real solid top game. One example in MMA is in the Tito fight he has him in a tight Guillotine and Tito briefly allows Vitor to mount him just to escape and then for about 2-3 minutes Vitor beat the crap out of him on the ground. Of course Vitor gassed out yet agian and lost but maybe MAYBE his cardio has stepped up quite a bit in the 6 years since that fight.

Well Vitor has to mix it up most definitely. But as Scurl said we wont know which Vitor will turn up until he gets hit in the face. Otherwise it could be a Griffin style beatdown if Anderson smells blood. And I dont doubt Anderson will be motivated for this one, he's been calling for it for a while now
