Is Ward getting over-rated for his win over AA?

but then i bet you were one of those people claiming he was nothing, but as soon as he got onto Ward's resume he was suddenly a huge win to have under his belt. Yes well done Ward for beating a guy already suffering from double vision and in the process almost ending his career with your reckless headbutts.

I can say and my previous threads and posts prove it that I never rated AA. Always said he was lazy, that his power is overated, consider how AA couldnt KO previously KOd WWs at MW and has no big name wins.
But lets wake up George. AA has had 2 very clear defeats in his last 2 S6 fights, so anyone thinking that beating AA is a big win for a world champ beating a fighter that has had 2 very decisive losses and has said he cant compete at SMW, must be really bias to consider others fickle for not rating the win

Im going to say it, froch deserves to be rated above ward, based on his better resume, willingness to travel and fighting tougher opposition.
Only thing ward has on him is that he beat kessler while froch lost a close decision. I dont get why its normal for him to be in the top 10 yet froch isnt even considered.

    So well said.

The worse was people making him climb the p4p rankings after a win against Allan Green. :huh

Ward is very talented but Kessler is still his most impressive win, more than his last 3 fights.

P.S. He and his coach should stop calling for a stoppage. His coach said that Ward would stop Abraham, something nobody had been able to do...
I don't think Abraham has been hurt one single time in the fight and his face was pretty compared to what Froch did to it.

I lost a lot of interest when Dirrell and Kessler pulled out. They were my two fave to watch. Now Froch is the most interesting but he should have lost against Dirrell who schooled AA and Froch better than anyone.

In fairness Ward should be rated above Froch for his win over Kessler and Frochs loss to Kessler.
Froch has a better resume than Bute who has a better overall resume than Ward. Froch should be behind Kessler as Froch lost to Kessler and has only had one fight since.
What people dont like to remember is that Froch was fighting away and had problems in getting to the fight etc. Problems that Ward will never have due to his reluctance to travel

We dont know how well Ward can travel in a big SMW title fight. America hasnt had many SMWs who could win big fights away in Europe ie Brewer, Lacy, Mitchell, Taylor, Manfredo, Johnson, Dirrell, McClellan, Tate, Schommer, Holmes, Thornton, Tate, Butler, Sheika, Andrade (fights out of America) etc

Maybe he's getting praise because of the several dozens of ESB posts anticipating a brutal stoppage at the hands of AA?

What was the title? "Abraham would put Ward on ***** street". Check it out. You'll find lots of people thought AA was going to knock out Ward.

I also recall Froch getting a ton of praise when he beat Abraham. Lots and lots of it. Check the record! In fact, if you check the threads from yesterday, most of them were negative, i.e. anti-Ward (he's not entertaining, he's a meanie, he ducks too much, etc.).

Ward himself was quoted as saying Froch's performance against AA was "a masterpiece". Was that hyperbole?

Ward has one good win over an unwell double vision suffering Kessler.
Green , beaten by Miranda and KOd by G Johnson in his next fight :patsch
Bika beaten more convincingly by Bute
Abraham :patsch beaten clearly in his last 2 S6 fights and not a good SMW
Thats real impressive. One good win doesnt make a legend

Lets not forget how Ward has not done any real travelling like the other original S6 members :barf

Ward keeps winning and some don't like his style. I just feel you always will have haters no matter what. The day he loses, then you will have a ton of people saying he was overated. He is good and taking on all comers so lets leave it at that. We need more fighters like him. Yea, AA was like a statue, but maybe Ward had something to do with that. AA did not go in there to lose. I voted "no". So if Ward does the same thing to Froch, then what. Froch is overated? Let's just enjoy these talented fighters.

style makes fights. I think Ward is the most well balanced fighter in the tourny. I expected to struggle a little bit against AA bc he lacks a stiff spear like jab that dirrell have also he doesn't have froch and dirrell's arm range to keep AA and he prefers to fight inside half of the time.

The thing is, AA fights like that in every fight. He goes into a shell, and waits to land one big punch. Ward had nothing to do with AA fighting like that. He always fights like that.

Right, but AA was more of a statue due to Ward style and effectivess I believe. I mean, AA did much better with Dirrell.
