I doubt it, I mean Robin Reid knocked Ottke down and instead gets a point deduction for...um...I forget. Hitting him too hard? That'll take alot of beating.
Dont know exactly what this thread is supposed to be ment for but I will say this its kinda screwed up here that ward is getting Back to Back fights in his home town, they should not be fighting in Oakland for this one.
The Euro's have their knickers in a twist because this has been two Americans dominating the tournament favorites. They know once the knockout stage is here, the Americans are going to kick the **** out of the Euros.
There's no way you can compare Ward to Ottke just b'cause these guys win decisions in their hometwons or countries. Stylistically speaking, there r no comaprisions whatsoever - Ward is a highly skilled, unpredictable, most smart&tricky fighter who understands most about positioning, timing and distance whereas Sven Ottke was a crafty technical boxer who used his conventional style and extreme discipline, cold consistency and mental stability to win the rounds with straight-lead punches, one-twos and few more. I mean, you can't put guys like Mayweather, Hopkins, Ward, Henry Maske, Wladimir Klitschko, Torsten May in the same bag just cause they win thru long fights and boxing skills mostly...That's why you have different schools in boxing.
I wouldn't think so normally. But there could be some truth to the idea that their heavy tourney favorites have gotten outclassed for the most part by guys who were barely beyond prospect status coming into it. But, in fairness there was some controversy in each fight. So, some complaining is expected. The acting accusations are preposterous however.
Maybe in Europe the ref would have told Ward to stop using his head as a battering ram as it was a tad unsporting.
