Is Ward really #1 P4P?

I thought Ward out hussled, and outworked Kovalev in the first fight. Kovalev was wrestling instead of punching. In the rematch Ward spanked that arse, leaving some of you arse sore.

 

I don't have a dog in this fight since I've never been a big fan of either fighter, but I believe when I scored the first fight I had Ward down two or three rounds. Close fight, a couple of close rounds that the judges all gave to Ward, and I wasn't too bothered by it since Kovalev only outlanded Ward by about ten punches the same as Lara had outlanded Canelo.

In the rematch, I think I missed the first couple of rounds, but it looked like Kovalev had upped his work rate to outland Ward, trying to win more rounds but was gassing mid-fight. Some of the lowblows were beltline legal and about half of them weren't. It looked like Ward probably didn't have the advantage in banked rounds because Kovalev was outhustling him but doing sloppier work and Ward was going to come on at the end of the fight as Kovalev wound down.

I'm not butthurt, since I'm not really a Kovalev fan and I've never been a Ward hater. I just know what I saw. Tony Weeks ****ed up and Ward hit Kovalev low a couple of times.

I had the first fight 7-5 + KD to Kovalev.

I thought that they were both better in the rematch. The second fight was really very good. Kovalev definitely was boxing better and with more volume, and Ward was visibly hitting harder and he looked tougher too. I had Kovalev up by every round until the last one, where Ward's bodywork began to pay off and he turned the tide.

It was pretty disappointing to see Ward go low like that, and even more so for the referee not to call his BS. Ward groupies make the case that he would have won anyway. Even as a Kovalev fan, I have to admit that it would be entirely possible that SK would have gassed anyway and lost. However it's not fair at all to lose to dirty work, and its not fair to simply make that assumption and write Kova off.

At the end of the 6th in Wlad/AJ nobody would have put money on AJ to come back and stop Wlad, yet he did. It would only have been right for Kovalev to have a chance to do the same ... or lose by legit KO.

 

Kovalev beat SOB in the first fight on points. I the rematch SOB had his personal referee Weeks to legalize testicle blows! Kovalev won by disqualification, but it was in Vegas, with SOB's referee, judges, boxing commission and his cheer leader Bob Bennett who lied live on HBO! Refused to even review the low blows.....................Kovalev was cheated. SOB is no where near #1 P4P, he is a con, a cheater, belongs in the sewer................

i know you are friends/sparring partners and you both invest heavily in the construction/building sector and you often see him naked, BUT there is a point you should just accept truth.

Whilst he probably should be P4P right now, I find how he got there repellent. He is a cheat plain and simple, whilst boxers are always going to push the rules.. this guy does it every fight. It's how he wins.

So for what it's worth he gets P4P recognition, however he will forever be unpopular and disliked for the manner he got there.

nobody understands how you can still get riled up defending this non achiever.
he was a mediocre fighter that -once exposed, lost EVERY ROUND to mosley, pacroid and cotto 2.

Why do you feel the need to correct grammar?

Frankly I don't care what I sound I like to you or anyone else, I am not here trying to impress anyone, so if my grammar is bad.. well who gives a ****. I don't.

Also, it's kind of ironic that you feel 'educated' enough to want to correct my grammar, whilst (see I used it again!) refusing yourself to capitalise the first letter of each sentence? How-about you learn the basics first.
